Friendly. Very clean.

This property was set in a rural hillside offering views of the Valpedre valley. Not only is this a sophisticated hotel but the property boasts fantastic facilities for all ages. The staff, especially the Manager André were super friendly and nothing was a bother. André was forever checking in with us to see how we were and if there was anything he could do for us. He also assisted us with some sight seeing expeditions which were great. The hotel was exceptionally clean. The bedroom was left spotlessly clean, and the bed was made every day. I would highly recommend this hotel for its friendliness, cleanliness, value for money and it has a real escape feel. A hidden gem in Penafiel.

Amazing place with beautiful surroundings

Beautiful hotel and grounds. The host went out of his way to make our stay most enjoyable. He called ahead for dinner reservations at a nearby restaurant and had our laundry expedited. The place is a gem.

Amazing views from both the room and the pool deck. Beautifully nestled on a hill with views of the area. Church bells chime while you’re swimming and playing. Amazing staff to tend to all your needs.

This hotel far exceeded expectations. The beautiful, well-appointed, classy facility was located in a gorgeous setting surrounded by vineyards. The parking lot had orange and lime trees at the edge. The manager's enthusiasm about the property and his job was contagious...oh, and don't forget he speaks multiple languages fluently. I hope to have the opportunity to visit this property for a longer stay.

Absolutely amazing setting and service overall, the first night out as a family of 4 (a recent baby joining a young toddler) which couldn’t have been made better. Definitely a place to go back to and have already started recommending it to friends and family.

Everything about the stay was exceptional. The place is gorgeous, the setting both elegant and restful and Andre (the host) is charming and warm.

Very impressive building and grounds. Stopped for the night on a business trip and wish I could have been there for longer to enjoy the pool and garden. Would be great place for a business group to meet.

Very nice and relax hotel to stay, only ten rooms in property, and you need to have a car, otherwise EXCELLENT HOTEL, service A+, food A+ ( quality and very tasty ) room A+ After long day sightseeing the area, best place to relax and have a great dinner with a nice wine.

Hotel recommended great wine bar and tapas but was more than tapas was an experience lovely wine too from the regions . Need a taxi or car to drive there

A beautiful hotel in the countryside out of Porto. The room was very nice the pool too and the staff always helpful.

A fantastic hotel in a beautiful setting. Obviously a lot of thought and care has been put into making this a top hotel and it really pays off. The owners/staff were all very friendly and so helpful with suggestions for the area. All areas were lovely, from the bedrooms to common areas and pool. I would happily stay here again, a super hotel.

Stayed here for a week in mid July. On arrival Andreas was super friendly, welcoming and helpful. Throughout the holiday he was attentive and couldn’t do more for us. The rest of the staff were great too. The pool was stunning, the room was gorgeous. The only downfall was the hotel restaurant was closed the week we were there as it was quiet and the staff were on holiday. There aren’t many places to eat near by, we had a car and could drive to the local grill but other than that you’d struggle to find anywhere.

Driving up the long, winding, cobblestone driveway, I was sure I had made a mistake and turned into a private residence. From the meticulously manicured gardens to the overall clean and fresh feeling I had when I got out of my car and was inside the small lobby, attention to detail and superb customer service are the calling cards of this friendly hotel. It is quiet here, and often I had the feeling I was the only person in the hotel. My room was very large and comfortable and the complimentary breakfast featured a variety of hot and cold foods sure to please anyone. I can’t say enough about Andre and the rest of the “team” here, always available to offer suggestions on local attractions, restaurants, and other unique places to stay across Portugal. Their aim is customer service and they are quite good at it. I really didn’t want to leave this relaxing atmosphere. If you are looking for a peaceful place to enjoy, I highly recommend Hotel Rural Quinta das Quintaes.

Historic, rustic and country ambience was superb. The owner was very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. The location is a little out-of-the-way and the historical stone and wood finishes are delightful, though the rooms feel and smell humid. This latter negative is balance out by the location's and the building's special charm. We encourage you to go, but understand it is a couple of miles outside of town and that in the summer time your room may be humid, but fresh and cool.
