I stayed here with my husband and our four-year-old child, based on a recommendation from a close friend.
In my opinion, the hotel’s location is quite far from other hotel areas around Lake Yamanakako. When we arrived, the nearest bus stop was Asahi Gaoka, which is the last stop. It was quite difficult to find food because, for some reason, many restaurants near the Asahi Gaoka terminal were closed when we arrived—even though it wasn’t a public holiday. Fortunately, there was a 7-Eleven about 50 meters away, so we were able to buy breakfast there.
The hotel provides a free pick-up service, but the phone number can only be dialed from a local Japanese number, and there was no WhatsApp number or email available. So, I had to ask someone at the bus station to help call the hotel and let them know we had arrived and needed to be picked up. The distance is quite short, so we only waited around 15 minutes before they came to pick us up.
When we arrived at the hotel, the building looked rather old but was still very well-maintained. Once you are at the hotel, you’ll mostly just enjoy the atmosphere there, as it’s quite difficult for tourists like us—who don’t drive—to go out and explore. There are no nearby places to eat or entertainment options around the hotel.
They provided a complimentary dinner, and it was absolutely amazing—I really enjoyed it.
If you stay here, you can also enjoy a ride on the “Kaba Kaba” bus, which can travel both on land and water. Conveniently, the ticket counter is located at Asahi Gaoka, the same place as the bus station.
During our stay, I noticed that most of the other guests were older Japanese people, likely there to enjoy peace and quiet.
Thank you
