The bed on the room was the best part of the stay. Big and comfortable. Check-in was unfriendly at best. The reception and hallways smelt a bit stale. Thankfully the room smelt fresh. There were cobwebs on the chandelier. One of which had been hanging so long that it fell into the bed whilst I was watching tele late at night. The bathroom is too small for such a grand room. Tight space and toiletries not restocked. Body wash was empty. Also room was cold. There was a spare heater in there which means it’s something they are aware of. Perhaps provide comforters in the wardrobes. And again, checkout was not the friendliest goodbye. An okay experience but certainly didn’t feel like the treat I’d hoped it would be.

Checked in at 3pm, told dinner would be available in the hotel restaurant at 6pm - no need to book, just turn up. So we went to restaurant at 6pm as instructed, told it was fully booked and so they could not feed us. Rainy night, nothing else available on a Sunday night, so after telling the reception staff this was hopeless, we left the hotel at 6:15 pm. I do not expect to be charged for this night’s accommodation as we did not use it. Reception staff could only say restaurant is a separate business, nothing to do with them, not their fault. Dreadful experience all round.

I enjoyed it clean and spacious I choose club room. The only two thing is the little pillows looked unkept they should have stick to the white pillow cases, it was abit cold for me even with the heater on. But overall it was enjoyable sauna and steam room was quiet so I was lucky to have it to myself.

Room was incredibly cold. Air con / heater unit didn’t operate correctly and the filter needed cleaning. Bathroom and bedroom smelled of sewage. Customer service from front desk staff on arrival and departure was poor. No rapport building whatsoever. Cold and formulaic. Night manager was rude at best, we were ignored, left waiting, left unaddressed and moved about and spoken to abysmally. Worst customer service we have EVER experienced within a UK hotel or any overnight stay - never mind from a 4* establishment. Little reflected more than 2* quality aside from the actual bedding. Do not recommend.

The hotel was impossible to get hold of before our stay, as we wanted to ask about the possibility of an early check in. We emailed and phoned several times but had no response. When we got there we were told they don’t offer early check-in anymore (even though the room welcome leaflet references it) so we had to get ready for a wedding we were going to in the spa changing rooms! Club room was ok but could do with a bit more space and a few more conveniences on each level, like bins etc. We stayed for two nights and would have appreciated some replenished refreshments (drinks, biscuits, cups etc) on the second day. That said, staff were very friendly and the hotel was clean and in a great location for Poplar station (5 min walk) meaning everywhere was easily reachable.

Lovely hotel. I had a room on the 3rd floor which I would avoid in future as it involves taking 2 lifts with the second lift being very slow (in keeping with the structure of the building) and also it takes a while for hot water to run. Comfortable but was disappointed as I could hear the adjacent room very clearly. Close to Poplar DLR stn. Cannot comment on restaurant, spa or gym.

My husband and I had a truly wonderful stay this weekend for his birthday Our 'Club Room' was perfect- very sleek, clean, and a comfortable. The hotel was whimsically and elegantly decorated for Christmas, and the lovely staff could not have been more helpful or kind, even when we arrived ahead of check-in and they stowed our bags away so we could head off into London. A really memorable stay- would recommend!

I left an expensive woolen jumper in my room by accident and when I followed up with the front desk they denied it was there. It is clear that it’s been stolen by either housekeeping or management. The jumper belonged to my deceased grandmother.
