We had a pleasant staying at Il Padrino. We got ample room, clean and functional except for the air conditioning. Surprisingly, the hotel management required an extra fee for using AC. We refused to pay and contacted Hotels.com customer service which could not straight up the issue. So, we were cooling down the room with fan only. Other than that the managing couple were very helpful and nice. Breakfast were tasty and freshly-made. The place has a friendly vibe and is conveniently located close to the Centre but far enough not to hear street noise. Recommended.

Gaby & Toby were great - everyone was really friendly & helpful. Great location - less than 5-mins walk to the Cathedral & city centre; 25-mins walk to the lake &/or the old fortress. They provid filtered water for the guests. Lots of useful information about tours. Only downside was the lack of hot/warm water for the shower (discovered in the morning... although it was sort of refreshing to wake up with).

I want to thank the couple who operate this cute hotel. Especially the lady of the house. She helped me arrange the best priced tours. For one person, it's not easy. Beautiful house and room. Spacious. Clean. The two ladies who cleaned the house are very nice too. Good breakfast, not a large portion. Hot shower, not that you need it. I stayed in room 5, at the end. outside is a second kitchen. Even though it's not fully functional, the fridge and sink are very handy. Wifi decent. Not super fast. Maybe because my room is the farthest. We have access to the main kitchen, but the family uses it, so I don't feel comfortable using the kitchen. I asked for a knife, a glass, and some plates and a bowl. Used them throughout my stay. I could use a little table. I hope they'll put a small table inside each room. A few problems though. 1. no AC, no screen. I got many mosquito bites. The room is very stuffy. In order to get some fresh air into the room, I have to leave the door open, and the bathroom window open. No window in the room. Please put screen door, and also screen outside of the bathroom window. 2. maybe some plugs near the porch area. I was given a plug-in type of mosquito repellent. But no plug if I sit in front of my room. Also this one heats up a tablet, and it's hot. 3. the large heavy blinds are over the door. Unable to draw it down, after I leave the room. When enter or exit the door, you have to draw it up. This makes it almost useless. They are pretty for sure

Had a very nice stay, lovely staff and nice Nicaraguan breakfast. Only downside for us was that the room was quite hot, also during night.

Nice staff, friendly English speaking owner, great breakfast, nice little yard, felt safe the place has a locked gate, only problem is the rooms are hot even with the fan, the only window is in the bathroom and there are no screens so you cannot open the windows and keep the l7ght on.

There is no AC and the room was really hot if we closed the door and used only the fan so we (and most guests) kept our doors open. It’s a secure property so this was possible but also not great from a privacy perspective. Additionally, there were a lot of mosquitos so leaving the doors open wasn’t ideal. We (and other guests) got lots of mosquito bites. If they can take care of the hot rooms and/or the mosquitos, it’ll be a nice place. It’s super cute, our room and bathroom were spacious and clean, staff are nice, breakfast was included and decent.

Gabby greeted us when we arrived and made us feel welcome right from the start. The room is super clean and bright with plenty of space. The sheets and towels are of good quality and the room is cleaned daily. Breakfast is very good and includes a nice fruit cup and coffee. The location is perfect, close enough from the center but far enough from the noise. It is literally a 2 minute walk to the city center. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The common areas are really nice and airy. Gabby and Toby( the owners) are super helpful and so easy to talk to. We enjoyed visiting with them every day and watching tv and Netflix’s in the common area in the evenings. We were able to use the kitchen when ever we wanted. On my birthday they surprised me with a bottle of wine, it really made my birthday extra special. The garden area is so pretty, and the french doors are lovely. There are hammocks and places to sit and enjoy the garden. There is hot water for the shower. Gabby and Toby are constantly making changes and improvements to their place which is really wonderful already but it just keeps getting better and better. They have recently added hair driers, full length mirrors and safes to each room. We spent 11 days here and loved it! We very highly recommend staying here !

Happily used il Padrino as a base for excursions throughout Nicaragua. Wonderful family, perfect stay. Excellent location, quiet but very close to downtown. Toby is a great tour guide and they helped us with our transportation plans throughout the country. Extremely friendly ambiance. Good value and highly recommended.

Overall this was a very pleasant stay. The rooms weee pretty simple but has everything we needed. There was some work going around the place so some rooms may be getting a facelift. The host Gaby was very attentive and friendly and the other staff also. Breakfast was pretty good. The hotel is in a great location only a few minutes walk from the parks, cathedrals and restaurants. Couple things to note; if like me you are prone to mosquito bites then make sure you bring a net. There is no Ac but ceilings fans that worked well but can be a bit noisy. Also there are a couple dogs who hang out in the lobby/dining area. They don’t seem overly friendly towards kids so best keep a close eye on them. Not a big deal. Overall a thumbs up for this place.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely hotel with an excellent price-performance ratio. The rooms are spacious, clean and well-kept. Infront of the rooms is a colorful, blooming little garden. The place is run by a very nice and helpful english-nicaraguan couple, so they both speak english and spanish perfectly. They provide tours and give valuable tips for sightseeing and local restaurants. We definitely recomend this place and would stay there again if we came back to Granada.
