A low-budget hotel (145k IDR) in downtown Samarinda, accessible on foot from several attractions (Pasar Pagi, Mesra Indah, Citra Niaga, Segiri Stadium). Several vendors selling typical Kalimantan food (Banjar yellow rice, Banjar soto, etc.) are nearby.

I've stayed here twice and it's very comfortable. The room is clean, fragrant, and quiet. The downside is the TV channels aren't that exciting, the sink leaks, the bathroom floor is a bit slippery, there are no towels unless you ask the receptionist, there are no amenities, hot and cold water is only available in the lobby, not in the room, but there is a mini fridge in the room, and the AC is cold.

It's okay even though the AC keeps turning off and on for no apparent reason, the staff is quick to help when asked. The point is you get what you pay for, but not all rooms are like that. The previous room had a fully cold AC, just a matter of luck.
