Perfect for transit. I happened to arrive in Surabaya late at night and take the morning train to Yogyakarta. It was cheap and just perfect for a night's sleep.

I stayed here in 2018, and I'm back again in 2026. It's still just as comfortable. There's only one toilet and bathroom per floor, even though there are a lot of people on that floor, so you might have to queue, huhu. What I like about this place is that there's a prayer room in the room, which is nice.

This is suitable for those in transit, close to Gubeng Station. The sleeping boxes are clean. If you want space, you can get a double (sleeper for two people). The single rooms are a bit cramped. The downside is that there's only one toilet per floor (mixed male and female), even though there are many guests in the bedroom, so you have to queue. The staff is friendly. You can leave your luggage first.
