Came here for my little brother's wedding, then decided to stretch the trip a few extra days with the family. Honestly, really glad we did.
Full disclosure: I booked this place because of a TikTok about their tennis courts. No shame. I managed to grab an early slot from 6 to 8 AM, and even though the courts have clearly seen better days, playing there in the cool Bandung morning air was genuinely one of the highlights of the trip. City hotels with actual sports facilities are rare, so this felt like a proper bonus.
The hotel itself has that old Bandung charm, the kind you find in the heritage buildings around Jalan Braga or the older parts of the city. I always get a little nervous when places lean into the word "classic" because it usually just means tired and dusty, but this one actually holds up. Rooms were clean, Wi-Fi was solid enough for calls and streaming, the view was lovely, and the hot water was strong and consistent. That last part matters more than people think once you've spent a day in Bandung's highland chill.
Now, the one thing I wish someone had warned me about: Circle K. There's one right out front, and apparently it's the late-night hangout spot in the area. By midnight it sounded like there was a full cafe-like-concert happening on the street. Not ideal when you're trying to wind down. If you're a light sleeper, ask for a higher floor or a room facing away from the main road. That's my biggest tip.
All things considered, great value, great location, and the kind of place that feels lived-in in the best way. I'd come back for the tennis alone. Just packing earplugs next time.
