Lovely place walkable to the centre of town and the botanical gardens. Very peaceful with lovely views overlooking the garden and mini pool.

To manage some dietary restrictions, we wanted a hotel with some meal preparation facilities. We chose the Casa Do Contador and we could not have been more please. Prior to arrival we contacted them for some information. Their responses were almost immediate. Upon arrival, we found it to be a small but very charming hotel built upon a former elementary school. Tomas checked us in, carried out luggage to our 3rd floor room, and showed us all the facilities in the room. For a very reasonable price we had a full suite. It included a large bedroom plus a second room with a couch and a full kitchenette. The kitchen had a induction stove top, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, and kettle plus all the pots and pans and dishes one would need. It was all we need to prepare small meals. The daily continental breakfast was fantastic. Two baskets of bread, butter, jam, eggs, fruit, vegetables, yoghurt, pastries, juice, milk. Slight variations were made each day to make it more delightful. It often provided us enough for small snacks to take on outings. The TV service was extensive with multiple language services. The lobby had 24/7 coffee service. Behind the hotel was a small garden, pool, and rest area. It was a delightful spot to spend a sunny afternoon. Tomas also provided useful recommendations on car rentals, parking, and local shopping and services. The only negative was the rather steep stairs to get to the upper levels but that was a small price to pay. Across the street from

Casa do Contador had character, beauty, AND comfort. The breakfast especially was a fantastic experience, delivered to our room each day in a traditional wicker basket. We've never experienced anything like it! The staff were friendly and helpful, and recommended a really great tour to the east of San Miguel Island. The bed was comfortable, the kitchenette had everything we needed ... No notes! We'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

The room was clean and accommodating for our family of 5. The hotel was very responsive with questions I had on whatsapp. Our room did smell of water damage but other than that it was a great stay and we absolutely loved the basket full of goodies that was delivered at our door in the morning for breakfast!

The property is exquisite and easily accessible. The breakfast which is included is unique and delicious in every aspect. My only regret is that I can’t stay here longer.

Our flight left before breakfast but they were kind and had food left in our room the night before. They were very helpful with everything.

Behind a wooden gate one of the nicest hotels in Ponta Delgada is waiting. Premises were clean, communication with staff great, and the breakfast basket was an added plus.

Cozy hotel. Our room smelled a little musty and walls were thin could hear everything upstairs even other guests were moving furniture early am and would wake us up. Breakfast basket was cute, but it was the same thing every day. Front desk was welcoming. On our last day there were 2 girls in the back yard courters taking bikini photos with a whole tripod setup, which made it awkward for myself and child to hang out back there.

The team at the hotel was extremely proactive in their communication (reaching out via WhatsApp 1 week before with entry codes) and very kind during the stay. They are only on aite from 9-5 so that is something people should be aware of. We stayed in the family unit with 2 bedrooms which is a semi-basement so it definitely had a smell of musk but extremely clean. The beds were comfortable. I wish the upstairs room had its own bathroom or even a sink/garbage pail but it was workable for sure. The pool area is very small but well maintained. My main recommendation would be to add a nespresso machine to the units because everyone going outside to the main machine is not very practical in the morning. Great location to walk around!

Great stay! Spacious suite and a lovely basket of breakfast supplies was delivered in the am. Quiet, ocean views, close to town, and the pool was an added bonus for the kids. Would recommend.

Beautiful historic building, great location where you can walk to everything. Easy to get in the main door and the suite. Nice amenities including the breakfast which was such a spread it was almost too much. Nice pool and outdoor area. Overall really nice!
