We stayed at North Hill hotel during a warm weekend so needed the window open for air. Unfortunately directly outside the window was some kind of extractor fan or generator than ran at changing volumes and rhythms, all night- it was essentially like listening to a washing machine on spin cycle with no end. Add this to the old-style sprung mattress where when sharing you feel every movement the other person makes, plus a wired phone that for some reason illuminates the entire room (enough to read by) at unknown intervals, and sleep was pretty elusive.
It’s a shame as the room and bathroom were pretty spacious and extremely clean, plus in a really convenient location. Fine for heavy sleepers, I’d imagine- otherwise I wouldn’t recommend.
