Our arrival experience was less than stellar for a warm welcome to property. Front desk associate was very cold and accusatory of the situation we encountered outside of the property. We have traveled extensively and I expected better arrival experience. It all changed for the better when we finally got to our amazing suite and befriending two amazing individuals in the hotel bar. The roof top suite was absolutely amazing! The room is quiet, private and much larger than described on the site. We absolutely loved the room and the privacy. The rooftop suite is the best in the house! Claudio in the bar and Salvatore the sommelier are stellar to guests, they turned around the entire experience! I let them know what had happened upon arrival and they immediately got the GM to reach out to us. Lara, the GM is amazing and quickly made our experience turn into something so special, as we wanted! She is an incredible woman and turned our stay into an incredible experience! The breakfast is nothing less than wonderful and the service in their restaurants are so attentive and the food was delicious. Hands down, I would love to go back again. They certainly made things right by making our romantic stay, exactly what I wanted. They made us feel heard and valued and welcomed at this once in a lifetime experience. We made friends that we will cherish and memories that we will never forget! Claudio, Lara and Salvatore really made our stay exactly what we needed and wanted!

What a unique place. Near the top of the hill. Staff service and amenities were all great. Not an easy place to drive to. The taxis drive-in backwards the last eighth of a mile.

fabulous hotel with the most beautiful aperol spritz I have ever had served by the pool, and that was only one of the wonderful things I have to say about this beautiful hotel. The staff were helpful and accomodating, breakfast in the courtyard outstanding and our room was divine. Cant recommend this property enough.

The hotel is very nice. Our room was quite small and the window view was lovely but very high up on top of the wall to where you can’t see out unless you go up steps to your tippy toes. Breakfast was very good. Dinners were good but pricey. Would have been nice to sit outside but it was colder and no outdoor heaters. My main issue was the parking. We thought we could park at the hotel but they said the parking was full so we parked down a hill and had to pay. The hotel was aware but didn’t offer service to help.

Our second time at the Monastero di Cortona and came back because we enjoyed it so much. Staff are wonderful - so attentive and helpful. Food at the main restaurant was fantastic as were the breakfasts.

We had a wonderful four day stay while wandering our way through Italy. The location is at the top of the hill and I mean the TOP. View is great but be prepared to climb the hill which is quite steep. The roads are narrow so if you are driving the smaller car is preferred.

Great hotel but room 114 is too close to the bar area and as such very noisy if there are loud guests in there. I’d suggest a room away from the bar if you want a good nights sleep but everything else is fantastic

Very friendly staff at a beautiful property located in a great part of Cortona.

The staff are outstanding in a 5* character property with outstanding attention to detail. Close to lots of shops and resturant’s even though the best food was at the hotel. We originally booked for 7 days and have just extended the stay as we enjoyed it so much. Will definitely return

Gorgeous hotel, very helpful and friendly staff, stunning pool and spa. Loved everything about this hotel! Just know that it’s an uphill walk to get there from the town center.
