Room was clean and comfortable. Dinner at the inn was good too.

Very unique hotel that is a few different properties. We stayed in a room off the main hotel they was right next to the outdoor bar. Thankfully the live music stops at 7:30pm because it was very loud and even rattled the room. Highly recommend paying a little extra for the breakfast. The food was amazing. You can choose from a small buffet as well as a few breakfast meal options that were delicious. Unfortunately we didn’t get to ear dinner in their restaurant, but we heard great things about it. The room was very clean and very comfortable. Great use of space.

Location and charm

The room was very nice and clean. Lovely breakfast which was included with the room rate. We actually came up to see Johnny Barr as he was the nights entertainment.

Absolutely loved our stay, and we’re so happy with our room. The bar and restaurant staff were super friendly and helped us enjoy the wide selection of drinks at the bar and a lovely dinner at the restaurant. Would absolutely recommend the food, and would urge you to stay!

Accommodation lovely, food excellent, staff friendly. Unfortunately our stay was marred by the fact that we were kept awake until 3.30am by music and chatter and laughter below us. We were in room 11. However, after speaking to a member of staff on reception in the morning, she kindly compensated us by voiding our bill from our meal the previous night which we found acceptable. We would stay again but avoid room 11 😂.

Didn’t like – General shopping list of the room, no plug to use the blow dryer with the mirror, had to ask for an extension cord, which should be an automatic in that room. Uncomfortable chairs in the room. Liked – Pub & Bartender Ben, the Wood fires, dogs allowed, Coffee options available in the room, shower in room 24.

Staying in an historic hotel with décor to match is very romantic. The rooms were a bit cold - but the extra heaters were a blessing. Wish we could have been seated in the older section of the dining area to maintain the ambience of the evening with my husband.

Warm, historical feel at this property. Restaurant was excellent, easily accommodated GF diet. Room was the most spacious we had in three weeks of road tripping. We were warned of the live music on Saturday nights but even with the window cracked, we couldn’t hear it. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

What a fabulous hotel! We loved everything about it. The room was excellent, clean and the staff were professional and welcoming. We arrived early (flew from Canada that morning) and the wonderful reception lady checked us in! I cannot say enough about that made our day after a long flight overseas! The restaurant in the hotel served a delicious dinner, then breakfast in a super beautiful dining room full of charm and character! We absolutely loved our time at the George Hotel! Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will happily return!

Property of great character with bare stone walls in public areas. Warm with open log fire. Good lighting in dining area. Traditional wooden dining tables. Warm colours in stairway and landings. Attractive bedrooms with characterful furnishings. Clean modern bath/shower room.
