Hotel staff is ok and quite friendly in service

I was a bit hesitant to book this hotel at first because I read so many bad reviews. After visiting, I'll try to give a fair review. + Strategic location and close to the city center. Java Mall is a 5-minute walk away. + Friendly and responsive receptionist. + TV works well and is quite clear. + Mini fridge works well. + Complete amenities and a hairdryer attached, so no need to borrow one from reception. + Delicious food and drinks. + The views from the upper floors and rooftop are truly pleasing. - Upon entering the room, there was a musty odor. The toilet area smelled of urine. (Thankfully, I always bring air freshener, because this hotel isn't the only one that smells strange when you first enter.) Perhaps a spray of air disinfectant could neutralize the smell. - The furniture is worn, the walls have turned brown, there are lipstick stains on the walls, the floor lamp is crooked, and the cupboard no longer closes properly. -Because the hotel is exposed to very strong sunlight, it felt very hot during check-in. It's recommended to deposit an additional card to keep the AC running and the room temperature more comfortable. -The water in the shower wasn't hot. It was only lukewarm, or lukewarm. Female guests usually didn't feel the heat. -There was only one elevator in operation, so you had to be patient waiting for it. -The rooftop cafe, which is one level up (above the swimming pool), is unfortunately poorly maintained. The view of the city lights is beautiful from there. I was sitting there alone, when a man came up and asked me, "Aren't you afraid of being here all alone?" (Yes, it does feel worn out, and the furniture is very worn.) -As check-out time approached, around 11 a.m., the in-room phone rang. It was very faint. When I answered it, it disconnected. I plugged it back in, and hopefully it won't disconnect again.

Not bad for this price. Breakfast has a lot of variety. But there are a lot of things in the room that need to be improved. Children have an additional 50 IDR charge at breakfast. The infinity pool is nice, it's on the 30th floor.

The hotel looks like a 2 or 3 star. The cost per night is around 750 thousand, unfortunately the hotel room is dirty. The sheets, bed cover, yellow pillows have stains that are not clean. The furniture and chairs look worn, the bed lamp is moldy. The old-fashioned bathroom shower that is fixed in the bathroom ceiling cannot flush the wall, the partition between the bathroom and the toilet & sink is only glass, there is no door or curtain, so when showering, water splashes out. The bathroom floor also smells, as if it hasn't been cleaned for a long time. The car parking area in the building is even worse, narrow. The road up and down the car is so narrow, there are marks from cars hitting the wall. Even though it's narrow, there are cars parallel parked in front of the row of cars. I complained a lot to the receptionist and the manager but they didn't respond. How many times have I stayed at Horison, this is not a 4 star hotel, the price is too expensive for this kind of service.

The cleanliness of the hotel for a 4-star hotel is very lacking. I got a room at the end near the emergency stairs, the building seems to be lacking maintenance. Because the room I stayed in for 2 nights here had many chipped walls, the window of the room that had a street view also had torn window film as if it had not been maintained. When I first entered the room, the AC was hot and it looked very old, I finally asked the receptionist to move rooms but was offered to be fixed by a technician (company SOP, apparently). After being fixed by the technician, the AC could be turned on but it wasn't very cold. The taste of the breakfast menu was lacking and at 8 o'clock during breakfast, many of the menus and cutlery were out of stock, so I was confused and had to wait quite a long time for food refills.

It's a great place to take a break from a busy day. The service is pleasant, and check-in and check-out are easy. The service is excellent.

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel; the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable with beautiful city views. The breakfast was delicious, and the location was excellent.

Disappointed, Bad Service, I stayed from 21st to 23rd November 2025 at a price of 500 thousand per night, a very sad hotel, I often go to Semarang for business trips, even if I compare it with Amaris and POP hotels on Jl Pemuda which cost 300 thousand, I say the food at this hotel is really bad, even when I brought a 7 year old child, I had to charge an extra 50 thousand per child (this is the most annoying part). Where the other 2 hotels I mentioned were free. When I tried to complain about the above to the receptionist, they didn't care. I thought the more expensive ones had better service. It turns out, the photos are just beautiful.

The hotel is quite old, the main door is jammed so entering and exiting the lobby is a bit problematic but not a big problem.

The facilities and service are good

I haven't stayed here in a while, but now the service is disappointing. The rooms look dated, and the amenities aren't working properly. I've complained, but they haven't responded.

An old hotel, with furniture that was due for an upgrade, and a musty smell in the hallways and rooms. We'd just checked in when someone suddenly knocked on the door, and we immediately opened it, telling us it was time to check out.

Overall good, fast check in, comfortable room, cleanliness 👌, suitable for staycation at Horison Ultima. ...., next time stay here again .. Oh yeah, just a suggestion, the outdoor paint has faded, if possible please pay attention again so that the hotel becomes more attractive, thank you

The hotel staff were very friendly and efficient when checking in at the hotel.

The AC is hot, I've complained, they said it's adapting, but it's still hot until the evening and there's no action from the technician or staff, sleeping all night feels like a sauna

However, cleanliness needs further attention. *Price:* Affordable price. *Location:* The hotel is in a very strategic location, close to the city center and several popular tourist attractions. I could easily walk to several attractions or use public transportation. Overall, I was quite satisfied with my stay at this hotel.
