Old style palace villa b and b. Lots of character. Views of mount vesuvius. Good breakfast.

My husband and I stayed in Ercolano at Villa Durante for 2 nights on our vacation through Italy. Therese was a wonderful hostess - so kind, gracious and thoughtful. The property is a beautifully restored 18th century villa within 10 minutes of Herculaneum. The train station is a 15-minute walk, and there are lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. After visiting Naples for dinner, I was glad that we stayed outside of the city. Ercolano feels safe and the people are so welcoming and friendly. We really enjoyed our time there.

Had a wonderful stay at Villa Durante!!!

Breakfast was delivered to our room every morning which was very nice, the bed was comfortable, the WiFi didn’t work, it was about a 15 minute walk to the station which wasn’t too bad. We had issues with the bath leaking over the hotel room, it was quite a loud area at nighttime.

Clean comfortable stay in an elegantly decorated room with high ceilings and frescoed walls. Varied continental breakfast. Not far from Herculaneum. Very friendly staff. Would stay there again.

If you’re planning to visit Pompeii or Herculaneum, please consider this hotel. It’s absolutely stunning. We had the entire villa to ourselves for two nights and the hosts were very hospitable and the breakfast was very cool too. They come in serve it to you in your room. the location is very close to Herculaneum that you can walk to it.

What a great time we had. Teresa was a super host and the room was fantastic- huge double height space with murals on each wall. Lovely breakfast in the morning.

Place was as expected, huge, ornately decorated. Very interesting hotel. Surprisingly noisy, both outside and in. When we were due to leave we were told we had to pay extra for our son, for which we had already paid extra through Hotels.com. They quite insistent even though I showed them the booking and we had to leave to ensure we arrived for a tour on time so I paid it to get the hell out of there. I’ll be taking it up with hotels.com. Pretty poor from the hotels point of view, so beware. They need to sort out their pricing with hotels.com. Just made a good stay poor.

Villa Durante was like stepping back in time! The room was perfect for a family and provided space and privacy. The staff was very helpful. Beautiful breakfast was provided. I wish I realized staff was not on property though. We weren’t sure if we were there completely alone or not and when we had questions at night we didn’t know what to do. We took the “closest” train stop, but I recommend getting off at Ercolano Scavi to experience the town a bit. The other stop had us thinking we were very isolated, but really weren’t.

Beautiful place. About a 10 minute walk to the Herculaneum and plenty of restaurants. Room was cool and clean. Check in was easy. Breakfast was amazing each morning. Highly recommend this hotel.

Villa Durante is a lovely old villa that’s well located for Herculaneum. The room we stayed in was lovely and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were able to check in early too. As well as the rooms, there’s a lovely lounge area and breakfast was served there for us. Would definitely stay there again

The hotel is a small b&b using a few rooms from a historic villa. The bed was really comfortable and the room was clean. The breakfast was excellent. The car park onsite is very convenient. Do not stay at a airport hotel. I highly recommend staying at this hotel for convenience to the Naples Airport and a unique experience. The hotel is also conveniently located near the herculaneum ruins.

Ercolano is most likely not on your Italy vacation travel as a place to stay. However, if you plan on visiting Pompei and Herculaneum I would highly recommend Villa Durante. The staff was fantastic. The corridors of the Villa make you feel like you are Italian Aristocrats from the 17th Century. The Breakfast was outstanding Ercolano is a "real" Italian city and I loved the streets with all of the balconys.

The place was beyond amazing. The history of it, was absolutely breath taking! Couldn’t recommend this place more! It was so conveniently located around tons of things. Literally a 9 minute walk to the ruins of Herculaneum. The staff here were so accommodating and polite. 10 out of 10 would be back to stay at this villa!
