The pictures do not match the rooms. While the staff was very nice, the facilities are in no way 5 star and the food was lousy.

Very helpful staff, good air conditioning in the room, which is very important in sao tome.

Quiet and convenient. Staff friendly and helpful. Should repair the some of the equipment at the gym though.

The buffet breakfast was wonderful with the best coffee! Our room was spacious and comfortable and there was always hot water.

The hotel os getting old. Merda renovation on the pool and sim loungers. Bahtrooms are ir 3 ir 4 star hotel. Haverá a good breakfast.

Very worn out hotel, specially in the rooms. It is not a 5 star hotel. Period! There are goods things - the staff is very welcoming and the breakfast is very good. But it needs an urgent and overall facelift. Adequate only for a stopover with no luxuries intended or if you are a casino freak. It has the only one of the island. I did not go.

I liked Pestana Sao Tomé. Very friendly staff and the location is very good. I appreciated being upgraded to a junior suite. The bedroom is adequate even though just a little small. Good Wi-Fi connection! I would go back to Pestana Sao Tomé.

Hotel is nice. Services and staff are a little slow and sometimes awkward. If you don´t speak Portuguese you might face some challenges.

I changed hotels, coming from Omali Lodge, where the internet didn't work at all in my room and they could not solve the problem, so I went to check the Pestana out. I usually do not like Pestana hotels, but this one was better than I expected. The staff was absolutely lovely and helpful since the first minute in the check in, and throughout my stay. They went with me to the room available before finalizing the check in, to confirm the internet worked from the room. If the wifi didn't work, they also offered the cable internet, which I didn't need. The wifi worked 100% of the time, with decent speed. The view from my room was spectacular and I believe at least most rooms with even numbers in the 1st and 2nd floor have similarly nice view. The room is simple but well taken care off, with decent linen and decor. There is only water in the minibar, and there is no coffee/tea making facilities. The bathroom is also very simple, but the shower works very well with water heating up pretty fast. The area outside the restaurant and bar downstairs, next to the swimming pool, is really nice and relaxing.

I stayed here to make travel between Pestano Ecuador and Pestano São Tomé easier which it did. The shuttle bus transports guests and staff between the two locations to catch the boat to Pestano Ecuador. When I first arrived to Pestano São Tomé staff was friendly, checkin was easy despite limited English speakers. However, when I went to my room I was on the ground floor and the terrace door would not lock. This was 10pm and I am a solo traveler... unacceptable. The staff sent maintenance and the door was fixed but this had me a bit on edge that night. The hotel feels a bit dated. Definitely not a 4* Overall but has a 4* Pool. Needs some updating to the decor.
