I stayed one night at Holiday Inn Express Kingston West during a weekday.
The hotel was clean, and well maintained. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. My room was very clean, and the furniture looked new and modern. The hotel was also quiet, which made for a peaceful night’s stay.
There were a few drawbacks. The in-room fridge was completely empty, and there wasn’t even a complimentary bottle of water. The only refreshment provided was a coffee maker with three coffee pods.
Unfortunately, I did not find the mattress comfortable and woke up with back pain the next morning.
Another issue was that the water pressure and temperature were not stable during my morning shower, which made it less comfortable than expected.
The breakfast was the biggest disappointment. The selection was very limited, consisting mainly of pork sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and some soup. As someone who does not eat pork, I found very few options available and barely found anything to eat. Overall, I did not enjoy the breakfast.
Overall, the hotel was clean, quiet, and staffed by friendly people, but the uncomfortable mattress, unstable shower water pressure and temperature, and poor breakfast experience made my stay less enjoyable than I had hoped.
