Ok so we had 1 night booked so we could come over from Zanzibar to do some shopping. Check in states 2pm and we arrive at 2.30pm. We had booked a King sea view room.
We proceed to try and check in where the lady asked us to sit down for a few minutes, not a problem we sat in reception and waited. Whilst we were sat there we overheard an elderly American couple who had been waiting to check in for 3 hours.
After an hour sat on the sofa in reception I went back and asked was there a problem? After several discussions with other members of staff the lady stated that there was a technical issue with our room.
After another 15 20 mins she came back to say they had upgraded us BUT this wasn’t a sea view. At that point we just wanted to shower get changed and explore, therefore we agreed, after all it was only 1 night.
We headed towards the lift and tried to access the lift with our room key, it wouldn’t work, so back to reception. This happened 3 times until finally it was sorted.
The room was adequate and very clean, however the safe didn’t work…. (It needed new batteries) that took a further 40 mins. By that time the shops we wanted to visit were shut.
We decided to go to the slipway shopping mall and have tea.
When we returned we tried to access the club lounge and grab a coffee, only to be told it wasn’t working. Also I might add NO snacks…. So what a complete waste of our holiday because of the poor and inadequate customer service. Let’s be honest we only went over to.
