It's a very nice hotel. I stayed for four nights, the rooms are quite spacious and clean. I had no problems at all because the staff were attentive and professional. The service was top-notch. I thank the management and staff. I would never hesitate to choose Ramada hotel when I come to Shymkent!

An excellent hotel for the price, comfortable right down to the door latch. The staff is polite, but the service could use some work: on the first day, we were 15 minutes late for breakfast, not knowing it was until 10:30. They let us in, but said, "You can have leftovers." We asked for the room to be cleaned at 12:00, but half an hour after we left, we returned from breakfast and they were already cleaning, so we had to sit and wait, then ask to come back later as requested. Upon check-out, the staff doesn't say goodbye to guests. The spa receptionist is a bit abrupt and doesn't quite have control of her temper. When we asked how deep the jacuzzi was, she complained three times about the children's ages instead of answering, and we had to ask again three times. In the end, the children went swimming anyway. There is no pool. There's a menu in the room, and the price for a pepperoni pizza is listed as 2,600 tenge. We ordered it for room service and asked to pay upfront. Usually, they calculate the change and deduct it upon checkout. I had to look up the amount without change, and when they brought the pizza, it was 2,800 tenge. It's a small thing, but unpleasant. There's a buffet breakfast despite the quarantine. We didn't eat lunch or dinner at the hotel, but we ate at the nearby restaurants. There's a small children's play area on the first floor near the restaurant. The cleaning is good. There's a Hyperhouse shopping center near the hotel, but there's limited choice and a lot of things are expensive. Nearby are the zoo and arboretum, and the highest point in the city, with the Baidibek Bi monument, is nearby. You need to book a taxi in advance, as many taxi drivers in the city receive requests and pick up someone along the way, which can lead to a 15-minute wait instead of a three-minute one.

Unfortunately, it's far from perfect. First, the good. Excellent toiletries in the bathroom. Then comes the quite comfortable bed. Decent hairdryer. Helpful staff. Now, the bad. The internet is spotty, like cloud cover, and weak, like desert rain. The same can be said about the cable TV. It's completely incomprehensible how, with a 24/7 kitchen, they bring microwaved French fries to your room. And then there's the restaurant on the sixth floor, where bottled Corona Extra beer sells for 4,225 tenge per liter (1,500 tenge for a 0.355-liter bottle). Of course, everyone wants to increase the economic efficiency of their business, but not that much, right?
