The rooms were outdated and the beds were uncomfortable. The quality of the food was sub par at best. The ocean front beach is gorgeous but sadly, that’s probably the best part of this resort.

My overlll experience at Azul was average. The staff were friendly and accommodating however food and amenities were lacking. Staff were very friendly and kind. They made the experience pleasant. The property was rated 5 stars however at best I would rate the resort 3 stars. The resort has seen better days on account of dated, worn and/or broken furniture. The linens were dingy and in short supply. The brown beach towels didn’t seem clean. The shower heads were broken and taken a shower felt like enter at your own risk. The hotel is in a beautiful spot, white sand beaches and plenty of room and chairs. As much as we loved Negril and have been there before the hotel needs a renovation desperately. When we got there the check was smooth. But the rooms were a nightmare. We experienced 3 rooms in one night. Moldy, wet ceiling, bed and stained and cracked sink among other things. The food is not great and they ran out of dishes every night. I have to say the beach and the people working there made the trip worth it.

Very disappointed at the fact that a concierge was following us around all the time expecting a tip. After we got frustrated, we tipped him just to leave us alone. Then we found out it was a timeshare because we were invited to a little presentation. Not the vacation or expectations we had at all for this place. Every bar ran out of something and when they ran out of it, there were no replacements, we were told sorry we’re just out. The food was the same way when something ran out of the buffet we were told sorry it’s gone. You couldn’t get salt and pepper shakers for dinner it was packets for to go food. The restaurants were very poor class food and the staff was not friendly at any of the restaurants. The bartenders when they did want to try to help, they had to walk forever to try to find another alcohol to make your drink, because no one was restocking for them. Cigarette butts all over the beach, because there was no smoking area designated. The vendors were way too close to the chairs, coming all the way up and even sitting in the shade. Rotten wood, all around the buildings, very disappointed and not maintained. I will not ever recommend this place to anyone. And we talked to several guests during our time there and they all agreed and felt the same way we did. Even heard people talking about the poor quality of food, which was terrible.

Stayed for 8 days. Had a wonderful time! Staff was friendly & helpful: especially JJ, the lifeguard on the beach by bldg 1; Deano, Colin, & Damien. Food was good but options limited due to slow season and only 1 restaurant in rotation and the buffet open each night. The beach was THE BEST EVER! If you're not picky, looking for total rest and relaxation and love the beach, this is perfect.

After a 5 day stay we feel this in one of the best resorts along the 7 mile beach. We understood that it is the slower time and that not all restaurants were available, but we were well fed. The staff were fantastic and friendly. Everyone makes sure your needs are met. Simone gave me the best 80 minute massage of my life. Rushine made us a shaded place everyday and catered to our needs for pale skin under the sun. I was beyond thrilled with everything and the Honeymoon beachfront swim-out is the way to go!!! Can’t wait to go back!

Poor selection of alcohol. Only one restaurant open each night along with buffet. Up-charge for room on 1st floor because I had broken foot even though hotel was only 50% occupied. Food average. Swim-up room was nice

Pros: The beach at this resort is beautiful. We walked along the beach, and I didn’t see a resort near that had a better location. Truly beautiful grounds. Plenty of pools as well we didn’t feel we had to fight for any space at the pool. Cons: The staff, while some more friendly than others didn’t seem to really quite have the costumer service locked down. We would be at the swim up pool, and the bartender would leave for up to an hour at a time multiple times a day multiple days. And it wasn’t just the me specific bartender all of them would do it. Bartenders at the main bars seemed to be unhappy to have to make drinks. (And yes we were tipping). A lot of times would just tell us “no” to making certain drinks. Restaurants. Only one was open per night. And they got quite busy. We tried ordering cocktails off the menu at each restaurant and were told they didn’t have them. Also the food wasn’t always available that was on the menu. Often a different description would show up from the kitchen. Some nights we just didn’t get a portion of what we ordered (food and drinks). Room & Grounds: The room was clean, but I would say a lot of the grounds and the room could use some updating. We had some hesitation to even go forward with this trip based on a lot of the reviews. It wasn’t as bad as some of the reviews make it seem. But it definitely wasn’t the luxury resort it boasts to be. Wouldn’t go back to the resort. (Been to 5 total all inclusive resorts.)

This was hands down the worst resort I’ve ever stayed at. I’ve traveled the world. Many countries. Never in my life have I been treated with more distain for absolutely no reason than I was from the employees at Azul. They want you not to be there. It’s SUPER clear. Food was AWFUL and nothing was ever open when they claimed it was. They would sit there with food cooked in front of us and literally push the time to open further and further back only to tell us to order room service. Which sometimes never showed up at all. And when it did they’d stand in your doorway shove food at you and put their hands in the door so you couldn’t close it without tipping. Horrible awful customer service. And I say this as probably the least bougie human on earth. We tried so hard to keep smiling and be bubbly and happy and make our own fun. Because there is NO fun to be had here. Walls are paper thin. It’s SO LOUD. beach is beautiful. Lotta drug dealers but they’re actually much nicer than the employees, so, that’s a win. Told us we couldn’t take indoor towels on beach. But we went for 3 days from one beach towel booth to the next without being able to get a beach towel. When I finally went to the front desk to ask they were, as usual, incredibly rude. I honestly could go on for days which is so sad and so not what I expected. RUN DONT WALK! I’ll leave it at that.

Very disappointing, the experience was horrible , no hot water after a certain time, shared my room with two giant water bugs, most of the staff in particular the women staff are not friendly at all. Furniture in the rooms are old and worn, I gravitated to one young lady at the Buffett so to at least smile while eating my food. Could go on and on, I’ve never felt so good to be home after a vacation. I feel that the pictures on the website are very deceiving, if they would add current pictures of the condition of the hotel and its rooms not very many people would go, at least not for what I paid.
