this is really just one of the most unique and beautiful hotels I've ever been in, and the restaurant on the top floor has great food is a serene but interesting setting. Apparently the building was constructed approx. 500 years ago and it feels like you're staying in a castle. Beautiful and totally unique stone work to appreciate as well. The staff was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and super helpful. A short walk away from the central square and is surrounded by the central historic district. Big 5 stars!

We absolutely loved Casa de la Luz! Very historic yet updated building in the heart of the historic district. We felt safe walking through the nearby streets after sundown and even tried street tacos made out of a shopping cart. Highly recommend this lodging for a layover at MEX.

The acoustics in the hotel is such that every sound at the bottom can be heard upstairs. Otherwise everything was to our satisfaction

Wonderful stay at a truly great hotel. Historic building is gorgeous, the room was large but cozy and spotless, bed super comfy, the staff is super attentive and kind, breakfast delicious. Tezontle, the rooftop restaurant that is part of the hotel is amazing. Highly recommend Casa de la Luz when staying in the Centro. I’ll be back!

This boutique hotel is a gem! Located on a smalll square in Centro it is easy to walk to many restaurants and has a ton of character. Spacious open areas give it an expansive feel. Rooms are well equipped and the included breakfast was exceptional.

Wonderful hotel in all categories. The staff is especially friendly and goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The room was clean, and breakfast options were delicious. Though the Centro district the hotel is located in was quite busy, the hotel itself is peaceful, and you are within walking distance of major sights. I would definitely recommend a stay with Casa de la Luz.

4-star rating and it actually earns it. Staff isn’t just nice, they’re on it. Breakfast hits like fine dining, not your typical hotel spread. Rooftop restaurant? Straight fire. No complaints booking again.

Staying here was absolutely wonderful. The staff are amazingly kind and helpful, the building is stunning, and the amenities are top notch. We like our rooms cold for sleeping and the AC delivered. We also had to do work for some of our stay at the WiFi was more than enough for two people to be working and taking video calls. The bathroom had good water temperature control and water pressure, along with L’Occtaine products. The square outside is bustling and alive with people and music but the sound proofing is so good we never noticed. A diverse and delicious breakfast menu is available to you every day, and on the top floor of the hotel, one of the best restaurants in all of Centro Historico is available to you for dining. We were originally supposed to stay at a different hotel in Zona Rosa that turned out to be a bit of a scam. The staff here accommodated our change in plans without a hitch, and were even willing to run a WiFi test for us before we arrived to make sure we would be able to do work here. The gym/fitness center is a small room with just a treadmill and elliptical, but there are plenty of gyms nearby if you want more machinery. Although Centro Historico is not as verdant or serene as some other neighborhoods in CDMX, it is in walking distance from a variety of incredible historical sites, museums, and restaurants making it a great place to call “home base” during your travels.

Stunning hotel with a great roof top restaurant and bar. We had a superior room on second floor which was lovey and big. Breakfast which was included was delicious and varied. Small downside was that our room had an interconnecting room - which when used had no soundproofing. Occasional noise from street - but given where you are, it wasn’t too bad.
