I woke up to a flat tire. Having a hard time with the rental company about getting it replaced the owner called up a friend next thing I know someone was coming up to fix my flat tire for me. It really made my day. I didn’t have to argue with rental car companies and they could take care of it for me. It was very nice and appreciated.

This guesthouse was a no fuss kind of place. All the basics were well covered; comfortable bed, clean rooms, nice bathrooms, pleasant breakfast. The owner was welcoming and efficient. The restaurant across the street serves excellent food and was cozy on our cool wet evening.

The property was quaint overlooking beautiful scenery and ocean. The room was very tight and there was limited breakfast options, especially for vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free people. There was a shared bathroom. Given the remoteness of the location, the accommodation was comfortable.

Full of character. Basic while being nicely refurbished in way that respected old building. Right by harbour. Limited food options but tasty and traditional. Free coffee in evening and communal space to sit

There are basically two hotels in this village. My room (shared bath) was very small with two twin beds: I had to place my suitcase on the other bed. The shower was in a separate room, but I would have preferred having a shower mat ... I wore my flipflops. The breakfast was good, typical fare (hard boiled eggs, cereal, bread/jam/ham/cheese) but no vegetables (tomato or cucumber). I appreciated the coffee/tea being available until midnight, and the outdoor patio off the breakfast area was enjoyable. Perfectly acceptable for a one-night stay.

We had a nice day in the Holmavik Guesthouse. A nice breakfast was available on site as well as in the evening you could have dinner. It was clean, staff were friendly and it was conveniently in the center of the small town.

Quaint guesthouse in a small town. Great homebase for further exploration of Westfjords. Hosts were friendly. We really liked the breakfast service, and lunch (from their bistro at extra cost) was the best homestyle Icelandic food that we had during our trip. The rooms are very clean, although they are small. Shared WC and shower facilities were also clean.

Tiny little rooms with everything you need. Separate toilet/shower room so you don’t have to wait. Had a little restaurant area where you got free breakfast and could buy some lamb or fish soup for dinner (if you don’t arrive before they close, there’s another little restaurant across the street)

Lovely little guest house with simple breakfast in nice upstairs cafe. Could use some hanging hooks and small mirror in main room to compensate for tiny bathroom.

A nice little place with a decent breakfast. The shower, like all we found in Iceland, was small. The breakfast is up a, flight of steps (not a problem for us, just an FYI) this place worked well as a base for exploration.

This guest house was one of the most affordable and one of the nicest places we stayed in Iceland. It was extremely clean and well-maintained, with additional touches and detail that showed the owners really cared. The staff were organized, informative and friendly. It offered a lovely complimentary breakfast with coffee, tea, juice, bread, meats and cheeses, cereal, porridge, eggs etc. It also offered lunch and dinner for a fee and was also conveniently close to other restaurants (one right across the street) as well as some local sights. We went whale watching with Láki Tours and the port was only a short 2 min walk away, in view of the guest house. It is the absolute perfect place to stay in Hólmavík I could not recommend it more!
