Amazing place. Super spacious and equipped with everything. Hot tub was great. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed our time here so much. Quiet and peaceful with great views. Great location; close to Husavik and Akureyi. 20 minutes to Godafoss Waterfall.

We absolutely loved it. An excellent "cottage" complete for a long term stay with very nice appointments and a gorgeous serene and peaceful view. It is about 30 minutes from towns and grocery stores so plan ahead. The hosts were very helpful and responsive.

My family did an 8-days ring road of Iceland in early April 2026, and this place/villa was, out of all the 7 hotels, hands down best hotel we stayed. My husband who doesn't usually leave reviews asked me to post a review for this place! Everything was spotless clean, modern and well equipped. We could definitely feel the owners' thoughtful touches throughout the villa (wooden chess set, warm blanket, olive oil for cooking, artistic coffee/tea cups, Reykjavik candle company 'hotel-lobby' room scent, cookbook for reference... ) And the hot-tub!! I think I want to re-visit Iceland just to use this place's hot-tub. Everything was so perfect and lovely. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

An amazing relaxing stay at Svartaborg. I love the location with the option to relax, or have a drive with so many things to see only a short drive away. We’ll be back. The houses themselves are stunning, and a dip in the hot tub tops off this amazing property/location.

Beautiful, modern micro-house, with lots of space. Excellent heating in the cold weather. Amazing views from huge windows. Great kitchen for cooking, which you will need, as there are no restaurants close by.

This was the best place we stayed at in all of Iceland.

This was one of the most anticipated stops along our road trip. We were only able to stay one night due to availability but we would have loved to stay longer. The place was very quiet, peaceful and romantic. The space was mindfully designed and very visually appealing. I can tell the owner out a lot of thought into the interior design. The heated floors + heated towel rack made the place even more cozy. We enjoyed the stars in the jacuzzi but unfortunately didn’t see the northern lights that night (although I’m sure it is a great place to see them when they are out). The only downside was some of the pots were covered in food from previous guests. All of the plates, cups and silverware were spotless though.

This stay was amazing, the decor was very chic and had us wandering around complimenting each of the design choices. Every detail had been thought of - from robes to use in the geothermal hot tub (a great experience even in winter) through to slippers and hot water bottles. The view from the windows was also great and we saw the northern lights during our stay. We booked this for my partners birthday and although it’s pricey it’s 100% worth it for a special occasion.

Absolutely spectacular.

This was a lovely place to spend my birthday, gorgeous private unit and geothermal outdoor hot tub. Was a bit on the pricey side but if your looking to splurge the views were absolutely gorgeous.

Unique location with 360 degree views of the surroundings. Quiet location, clean fully equipped villa with all amenities including a full kitchenette, comfortable and cozy beds. Easiest check in and check out. Host is super responsive and willing to go the extra steps to make guests happy. Would certainly very highly recommend staying at any of these villas when in Lake Myvatn area.

Best property we have stayed at in our entire trip! The place is just so lovely equipped with everything you need! You feel the luxury from when you step in….my kids did not want to leave after our two days here. The views are just beautiful…close to all main attractions and really feels like home away from home.. The owners were the nicest people! Communication was outstanding and they are very considerate and nice people who truly want to make your stay pleasant and enjoyable!

We loved this stay so much. It was clean and luxurious. The perfect place to spend a couple of nights to adventure into Húsavík!
