The property is a public house which is not permanently staffed and opens 5 pm to 10 pm In evening. Check in advertised 4 pm to 10 pm but staff member arrived to unlock at 5.15 pm when there were also ten customers waiting to gain access. I was supplied with a key to gain access after 10 pm. I returned 11.15 pm and was conscious I was the only occupant in the large building overnight. Left very early at 7 am the following morning for work. Not able to formally checkout

The property had just been taken over, I am sure she will make it really good given time. It's an old building but in reasonable condition

tired rooms - strange odour in the hotel part of the building. I had a piece of sharp metal on the floor which found my foot in the night. left on the table as there were no overnight staff etc. I don't think the pub does any food as there was no mention of breakfast. There is a great Cafe opposite though ( Concorde) for an old school fry up great pub though - very busy and a rare wet focused pub loads of room and a decent beer garden/outdoor area which i'm sure gets very busy booked this after inputting hotels near to the Guild hall -which this is not ! ( not fault of the hotel though)

Great location and room was reasonably clean. Room very dated and smelled slightly. No housekeeping (room wasn't cleaned during stay). Sink in kitchen drained very slowly and toilet had very weak flush. Wasn't great value for the price

Rooms are a little dated and feel tired but was clean which is all that mattered. Beds were really comfortable and we had 2 lovely nights sleep. The pub downstairs serves lovely pub lunch which we had on 1st night then followed by a lovely breakfast the following morning plus we ended up having sunday lunch there too on our last day. The hosts were lovely and really welcoming they couldnt do enough for you . Location was ok as its a 10 min walk to the quay and docks and about 15 - 20 mins from city centre

Rooms are very poor, dirty and uninviting. Bathroom shower had black mould on the inside, toilet didn’t flush enough, light switch next to door didn’t work. Room and decor looked like something from the 50’. Free car parking was if you could find a place on the main road straight outside. Will not be returning.

We arrived the hotel was about 9 pm. the first floor in hotel is a bar. there are many people drinking here. it is very jollification. After checked in, we joined them. the drinks is not expensive. this is a good chance for visitor to understand the local culture. however, we feel the other customers and Gloucester resident are not very friendly than other town.

This is a pub style Inn with the bar under the rooms. The room was quiet, though, clean for the most part with dusty lower shelves. The idea that there is free parking is a little misleading in that you must find a spot on the main or side streets. The room was comfortable with a vanity, bed was very comfy and the bath was small but adequate with a towel warmer bar. They serve dinner and breakfast here and the dinners are comprable to fast food, already portioned out style meals. I didn't feel this to be "home made". The breakfast was adequate.

Visited Gloucester to watch the rugby. Stayed at the Linden Tree for a night. About a half hour walk from the pub to Kingsholm stadium which takes you through the town centre should you get thirsty en-route! No complaints about the room itself, clean and functional. Included a TV and tea/coffee facilities. Not five star luxury but you are not paying those sort of prices! Our room (number one) did look out onto the road and front patio area which could be an issue should you want an early night during the summer with the window open. No issues with the window shut although we didn't get to our room much before closing anyway (about 11). Price includes breakfast which consists of a cereals, selection of juice and a full English should you desire. Had a bit of everything and all was good. I didn't want tomatoes so they replaced with beans without me asking. The pub itself is traditional style with a few ales available (Wadworth Brewery).Should you feel peckish there are various restaurants close by. If you like ale the Gloucester Brewery situated in the historic dockyard (next to the new shopping centre) is now open Saturday and Sunday should you want to take home some of the local brews. A ten minute walk from the pub. A good stay, will definitely be back when we next go to the rugby. Same price as the Travelodge up the road with a decent breakfast and personable staff thrown in.

The hotel is tired, rooms need a good spruce up.The hotel is above a pub, good food, good beer, quite a well sited location for the town, but it is tired, needs cleaning and painting.

Staff were very helpful, breakfast more than adequate and excellent selection of ales which were properly handled. However bathroom could do with a complete refurbishment , taps dripped. Toilet difficult to flush and shower cubicle very grimy.
