Room basically clean, big towel was NOT clean!! No evening meal facility, breakfast not included in booking cost, even thoughtwo of our party seemed to have paid for it at the booking stage. Staff in morning very adamant that it was NOT included, no real customer service support. If you want a basic bed and breakfast stop, then other than a dirty towel and a wad of dirty waste blue roll from room servicing left in the toilet/shower room, it was passable. For a business traveller, it is not a venue I could ever recommend. For a mid week booking (obviously business travellers) give this one a wide berth.

The room itself was great, with adequate parking. The problem with the room, as is the case for most budget hotels in the UK is that there was no AC, and in the hottest day of the year, even with the fan, the room didn’t drop below 36 degrees - all night.

Fantastic cosy room. Lovely shower , comfy bed. The check in is via phone and a key safe . The room was well stocked and very clean. Main problem is the doors to rooms don’t have quiet closing so when the ignorant other guests go in and out there is constant slamming of doors. We stayed in the room with exposed beams and it was very well thought out . Good for walking holiday due to location.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Cherry Tree. The room and place were lovely and quite modern considering how old the building is. There was only one shower towel and half a toilet roll when we checked into our room, as well as 1 of each tea/coffee so it seemed our room was prepared for one, however the staff were very helpful to sort this for us straight away. The location was good for what we wanted, and we enjoyed a lovely evening in Chinnor (although be aware it's a 30 minute walk on country lanes/paths to get there if you don't drive in). Breakfast was also reasonably priced, if not a bit basic (such as tinned fruit and plastic cups). But the cooked food was very nice and overall good value for money at £12 each.

The room was the scandi room, which was styled really nice however, the window wouldn't close fully, and there wasn't any shampoo or body wash, just hand soap.

Yes, the bathroom was not clean (hair behind the door). The noise was quite loud from the traffic outside. I also requested breakfast, but when I came to the cafe, nobody was there. I had to then leave because I was late.

Excellent customer service and beautiful rooms with hot water and decent water pressure. TV didn't seem to get a signal, but the wifi was good. There is fresh milk for your tea or coffee downstairs, but there wasn't quite enough for the multiple cups I drink in a day ;). A bottle of water in-room would be great, there were some refillable bottles of water near the fridge with the milk downstairs, but it smelled a bit musty when I opened it, so I just used tap, which seemed fine. There aren't any nearby grocers and the buses are not regular, so come prepared with non-perishable snacks, bottled water, instant soups, etc. for when the cafe is not open (no fridges or microwaves) a bit of a trek to local pubs, though all of the nearby pubs are lovely. Great for someone with a car, a bit of extra planning needed if you're bus-bound. Ask pubs about local, trusted taxi services and what your fees *should* be as uber does not really work here (the app says it does, but I assure you, you will wait an hour+ and the fees will be insane). Make sure you research any day trips and the bus schedules in advance.

Would have liked an area to sit and have a drink and was not offered any breakfast when checking out. Overall clean and comfortable stay.

Lovely clean room. Stylish and nice bed. Some disappointments - the complimentary drink wouldn’t even stretch to a coffee - simply a coke so I declined. Old plumbing meant there was only (too hot) water in the sink. Noisy road.

No one to welcome you on arrival, and the place was deserted. Then very noisy after 11 pm, suddenly came alive. TV and toilet flushing in another room. Thin walls. Very bright light on the fire alarm.

We stayed in the chic room which was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. If we were to stay in the area again I would most definitely choose to stay at The Cherry tree. From Wayne Jones Swindon.
