Beautiful location, clean, great food, warm hospitality, would recommend

The property owners are amazing and they went above and beyond to make sure the experience was outstanding. The views and surroundings areas are spectacular. I would love to come back and bring my family to experience the apls in this amazing location.

Very friendly owner. It was a busy day at the Gasthaus due to a regional cycling event. Service was a bit held up as a result. Meal and breakfast were very good, room was small but comfortable - a little too hot with the window closed, a little too cool if open. Bathrooms well equipped.

Really lovely and homely welcome to a family run house with some delicious eating and relaxing in a beautiful Alpine landscape. The magic was in the attention to detail and the little and welcome surprises that appeared throughout our stay. To tell you about them would be to spoil the surprise. Go and find out for yourself. You will find yourself returning for a second stay! Families of ALL ages will enjoy this stay.

This proved to be a great base from which to do some motorcycle touring around the Alps with my son and I'm so glad we stayed for 3 nights here instead of moving around to different places. Sandra and Roli were great hosts and gave us a very warm welcome and took great care of us. Our twin room was basic but very comfortable and prepared to a high standard. Everything exceeded our expectations and a 2 star rating for this place is misleadingly low for the standard of everything we experienced. The restraurant serves great food - locally produced tradition Swiss fare which was the best food we had on our 5 days of touring the country (try the capuns!). There is a sauna and 'hotpot' available (an outdoor hot tub filled with Swiss mountain water and heated by a wood burning stove) and I recommend this as a great experience for an evening with your travelling companion(s) to enjoy together as you take in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains. As it takes 5 hours to heat up this needs to be arranged in advance if you are only staying for one night. I travel a lot and this has been my favourite place to stay for many years. My advice is to use this wonderful place in the Alps as a base rather than a one night stop over!

Initial check in was not good as we were lectured (there is no other word for it) on checking into hotels and guesthouses ( I have to say at this point that all we are very experienced travellers), how ever things went quickly downhill when we found that the room had bunk beds and was not en suite. However, things took an upturn as the room proved to be acceptable and the amount of showers and toilets proved to be adequate (mostly) the setting is outstanding and the walking is wonderful. The evening meal was OK.

The previous reviewer's description of the hotel's style, layout and isolation is accurate, but I loved it. To me, the hotel felt very familial - you wear slippers around the building, most of the lodgers dine in the restaurant, and the owners treat you as a guest in their home, rather than just a reservation number. Also, the owners have chickens and lamas that wander around the grounds outside of the hotel during the day, adding to the down-home experience. They also have a hot tub and (I think) a sauna - though they cost extra. If you just want to relax, meet interesting people and eat good, home-cooked food for a couple of days (or just for an evening) then this is the place to do it.

Actually, this shouldn't be called a hotel or even a motel. It's more of a guest house. You have to take off your shoes while you are inside the house. The rooms have no television or telephone. Even worse, all guests have to share the same bathroom. I am a woman, and when I was using the bathroom two male guests pushed open door in because there is no lock on the door. This really scared me a lot. Third, at night, two guests went outside to smoke and I could hear everything that they were talking about. Fourth, my room was in the first floor and early in the morning when I was sleeping someone on the second floor woke me up by walking back and forth. I could even could hear the noise of their suitcase zipper being zipped.. Additionally, because you are so far from town you are forced to eat at the hotel, which didn't have many choices that I liked. My husband and I travel a lot and we have spent time in many hotels and motels but I have never seen any hotel like this one even though the price is just the same as other hotels during our trip in Europe. Because of the mentioned issues I think that the price should be cheaper. This trip taught me a lesson that from now on if we take a trip we won’t make any hotel reservations because if the condition of the hotel is like this one we won't have to stay there or have to pay that price. Instead, we will just look for hotels while we travel because there are many different hotels and we can find one we like along the way. In this way we will have more choices.

Sov der en enkelt nat og var særdeles tilfreds. Værten var virkelig sød. Stedet var hyggeligt og hjemligt. Maden var meget lækker og veltilberedt og vi fik forklaring på hvad vi fik af lokale retter. Omgivelserne er smukke.

Vi ankom i mindre godt vejr, og så lidt før vi reelt kunne tjekke ind. Værten tog det med et stort smil og bød os indenfor. Udsigten alene er alle 5 stjerner værd, men værtskabet, den gode mad og hotellet følger helt perfekt med. Vi brugte det til en enkelt overnatning, men ville gerne have været der længere. Tak for et godt ophold, jeg er sikker på at vi kommer tilbage.

Tolle Lage abseits vom Trubel, liebevoll eingerichtet, aussergewöhnlich herzliche Gastgeberin, wahnsinnig leckeres Essen! Ich hatte für diesen günstigen Preis nicht annähernd so einen tollen Aufenthalt erwartet. Sehr empfehlenswert!
