From entrance to exit this has been one of my favourite places I have stayed in. Booked on short notice as I was travelling and started getting a bit tired driving so pulled over and looked for something local to where I was. Glad I did as it’s now on my list if I’m working in the midlands. Check in was great by the owner and the lady working, quick and easy and shown to my room. The room was great, quirky and large and clean and was pleasantly surprised! Absolute value for money. Internet was decent too so could do some work to take the pressure off the next day. Went down for dinner and the menu and wine list fits the bill for the character of the place. It had plenty of choices and once again the food and the service was impeccable. Got a good nights sleep, even though it was hot they had a fan in the room that helped me get a good rest and although I didn’t stay for breakfast as I had to get on the road I am sure by the high standards set across the rest of the business that it would have been fantastic too. Longest review I have written to date but felt The Red Lion deserved it. Good work and I will see you again for sure

We had a lovely weekend at The Red Lion. The staff were incredibly helpful both ahead of and during our stay, and the pub food and breakfasts were very tasty. Our room felt a little dated and in need of maintenance in places, especially in the bathroom, but it served its purpose for our stay and we would be happy to go again.

No hot water available at 8am, 'double bed' was tiny, should be advertised as a large single. Otherwise food was excellent and staff were on the whole very helpful.

Staff member at check in and evening were nice. Lady at breakfast not so welcoming although it was tasty it would be good to be offered a cold drink given the current heatwave.

Lovely stay. Great food. Would highly recommend.

Perfect little country pub with well furnished rooms and the food was excellent

The room was clean but rather tired in decor. The staff were pleasant & efficient. Parking was free & was easily accessible. Although the breakfast menu was extensive, there was no marmalade available on the Saturday morning when we asked for it, and the sourdough toast was so hard it was impossible to bite into it! There were no cereals on offer. The cooked dishes on offer were numerous and when we ordered some on the Sunday morning (on soft muffins rather than soughdough toast), they were beautifully presented and delicious). We were V surprised to find that the cups in our room were SO small - not large enough for tea (probably only an espresso coffee) and they were not changed for clean ones for the 2nd morning! BAD POINT! We thought the dining room/bar area had been pleasantly decorated - it was cosy & appealing. It would have been preferable if we had been asked how we would have liked the duck breast to be cooked. My partner found that his was over-done. No extra fresh veg was offered. Only various potato dishes as extra sides.

Typical country pub, great room. Great sunday roast and also a superb breakfast with good service. Parking local to pub. Good facilities and WIFI available, TV on aerial, so not great, but not a problem with other media available.

Lovely room with comfy king size bed & roll top bath. Delicious breakfast & staff very friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Pleasant little pub with lots of character. Very little in the way of a welcome, just given a key and no further information. The room was very small and bed definitely not large enough for two. Wifi didn't work at all in my room which massively impacted my evening work plans. Not recommended for business travel. Very bright light outside my bedroom (the pub sign) so thicker curtains or blinds would have helped. Very annoying automatic light in bathroom that stays on for ages after you've used it - really irritating during the night.

Ozan, and all other staff members were excellent. Rooms are lovely, good choice of drinks, and welcoming atmosphere. Both breakfast and evening meals were superb. Well located to explore a lovely rural area with many nice villages and country walks.

Excellent location, service, staff, management and the young lady on breakfast called Ellie absolutely amazing perfect host pleasant smiling and super efficient. Room perfect clean breakfast excellent. Third visit now and shall be returning Thankyou so much.

Check-in was both accommodating, welcoming and efficient. Room compact but perfectly adequate for our requirements. Only negative is the Rain Shower: my wife had had her hair 'put up' and although a shower cap was provided it was difficult to get all the hair under without getting it wet or undoing the styling. A small hand-shower alongside the main shower would have been very useful. Cold water pressure in hand basin too high resulting in a soaking if put on full without thinking. Two very minor points that did not spoil our break. Didn't have dinner at the Hotel but breakfast was to die for. Great beer. Thankyou to all the team. Payment being taken our of our account without pre warning is definitely a No-No especially as it was in the name of the parent company, not Expedia or Hotel!

Had a really lovely stay here this weekend with my daughter. Fabulous room, fantastic food in the restaurant and super lovely staff. Will definitely be returning!!
