We went to The Red Lion for dinner, with friends, on Saturday 18th July 2026, arriving for 7.30. Unfortunately, en route, our car suffered a major trauma, which impacted somewhat on our evening. However we ordered from a varied and interesting menu and, between my husband's visits to the carpark to liaise with the AA, enjoyed a very delicious dinner, nicely presented and served by well-trained and delightful staff. But the other highlight of the evening was the way the Manager and his team helped and supported us. A measure of a venue relies not only on the quality of its edible offerings, but also on the ambience and service. On both those fronts, The Red Lion scores very highly and we enjoyed a really memorable evening there.

A great find! Lovely pub in a great location. Ali and the team were very friendly and welcoming, couldn't ask for better service. Great choice of food and drinks. Our meals were delicious! Breakfast was great and the room was very comfortable. Highly recommend :)

We were recommended the Red Lion by friends so booked a reunion weekend and it didn’t disappoint. We were warmly welcomed by Ali who introduced us to Rosa Blanca, which went down well! The menu offered something for everyone and the food was amazing. Ali looked after us really well making sure that we had everything we needed. One of the best pub experiences I have had for a while. Would highly recommend it and for those with a sweet tooth - the sticky toffee pudding was out of this world! Thank you Ali for looking after us all.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at The Red Lion in East Haddon. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of charm — the perfect blend of traditional country pub character with a refined dining experience. The food was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly prepared with care and attention to detail. You can tell the kitchen takes real pride in what they produce. From starters through to dessert, everything was cooked to perfection and tasted incredible. A special mention must go to Andrea, who truly made our visit exceptional. Her service was outstanding — attentive without being intrusive, friendly, professional, and genuinely warm. She made us feel completely looked after throughout the meal and added a personal touch that elevated the whole experience. It’s rare to receive service of that calibre. The Red Lion delivers on every level — atmosphere, food quality, and service. We will absolutely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in East Haddon. I hope its as brilliant when we return tomorrow night!

We attended a 5oth wedding anniversary last night. The service was fantastic. The food was simply amazing and the staff were brilliant. Keep doing what you're doing. We will be back. Thank you.
