This was a great experience. The rooftop terrace is legendary and the restaurant is very good 👍

Everything about the property was lovely. Be advised these are original elevators, so don’t over pack!

Quaint, artsy, historic hotel in a great location. Close to everything. Great dining options in walking distance. Unique room, comfortable bed. Loved the rooftop lounge. We got several texts from the staff, checking on us to make sure our stay was going well and if we needed anything. Only complaint would be that there's no onsite parking, but we parked at a public garage only 2 blocks away.

Great location, super friendly service, nice rooms. I opted for the slightly larger room with a king bed and was glad I did. Good happy hour specials... be sure to check out the rooftop bar...

The staff is very friendly and kind. I would recommend this place to others. The room was smaller than I thought but it's because its a historic building with a king size bed in the room. The valet staff were also very kind and helpful.

The hotel was wonderful about accommodating our early check-in, which we really appreciated! The staff was incredibly nice and always ready to help. The vintage elevator has lots of character—just takes a moment to get the hang of it. The rooms are on the smaller side but were spotless and beautifully decorated, making them feel very cozy. The location couldn’t be better; it felt like everything we wanted to see was just a short walk away. While the area around the hotel can feel a little sketchy at times, that’s pretty typical for a downtown setting. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely come back!

I loved the historic aspect of this hotel, but the area is very sketchy at night. The elevators are original to the 1913 building, but they are scary and hard maneuver.

They overcharged my credit card and even though I asked them to send the email receipt, never receit which is proving that they didn't want me to see the overcharge fee.

The staff was very friendly. Valet parking made in and out very easy, Happy Hour prices on food and drinks - excellent. Quaint, historical hotel. Though room was small it was very well appointed

The room is super nice, and comfortable and very well appointed and decorated. The service leaves something to be desired. I had to keep hounding them for a toilet bowl plunger for hours. There was no trash can anywhere in the room or in the hallways. Parking is very expensive, and there is literally no other choices in the neighborhood. Was also very loud on St. Patricks Day, but calmed down the next night. Check in isn't where it needs to be service wise either.

Parking isn’t included, room is tiny yet expensive. Area is downtown so it’s rather busy and noisy. Wouldn’t be back

The hotel had a nice appeal and was decorated nicely. The 200 year old elevator was a nice touch but wait times for it can be long. Parking around the hotel is terrible and better off using a parking garage and walking to the hotel, there is valet parking but is $65 a night. The hotel is located on 6th street which is a party street with a bar called the Double Duce being located on the same block as the hotel and the line to get in the bar takes up the whole sidewalk leading up to the front doors of the hotel. Night time hotel has nice views, but the screaming, laughing, and yelling of the bar’s patrons are sure to annoy you during your sleep. Also using Expedia grants you no VIP rewards or benefits at the hotel so don’t bother laughing or the receptionist will little laugh in your face. I don’t recommend staying in the hotel unless you enjoy spending money for a mediocre experience…

I always stay here when I visit San Diego. What they've done with the building is incredible, it's so aesthetically beautiful inside.

Wi-Fi is just awful, and the historic elevators are cumbersome and a nuisance.
