Misleading booking site showing pool and hot tub but was told to pay 20 British pound at the counter if we want to use the facilities. The room is at the ground floor and is outdated inside. The window lock is faulty and prompt to break-in, don't feel safe sleeping. The door need adjustments as light shone through the big gap at the bottom. In addition, the door will only close by slamming or pushing hard with a big bang; so it's noisy whenever other room guest leaving and coming their rooms We booked for 2 adults but were given 1 towel and 1 hand towel. My partner almost burnt by the towel rack, it was found out it was left at the max heat after the room cleaning. For a price of 115 British pound per night advertised as "Luxury hotel in Barnsley with spa and indoor pool ". It was an disappointing and overpriced stay.

Actually laughable this is a 5 star. We had a superior room. Room was severely dated, there was no main light for the room, just two lamps, my wife advises this makes it quite dark/difficult to get ready on a night. The only full length mirror was in the bathroom again same issue as previous. the double bed looked tiny, perhaps was a small double?! For the price paid and the 5* expectation, I was sourly disappointed, I would go as far to say they are getting away with it due to the fact there is no close competition, would take a premier inn over this drab affair, oh and at half the price no less.

Ive stayied here many times, good for the price, areas of my room were slighlty tired especially the bed side tables. The tv in the room is incredibly small. Shower and bathroom, superb. Room 8 is near the exit which would be fine if the main doors had a soft close. Breakfast good. Overal id stay again, no major problems.

Two things. Only one towel in the bathroom. The bar/restaurant closed at 9.30. This was a bit early as we were meeting some people from overseas that we hadnt see for a long time. We would have liked more time.

over priced very basic room . ridiculous £20 each for use of spa for a day . simple standard breakfast , small choice .

Really nice, w8th a pub next door too

The hotel was very very nice with helpful staff and very clean accomodation. Every aspect of our visit was catered for and the wedding and reception was excellent with nothing forgotten and presented in style. The only and only aspect which was not quite right for me was that the hotel was a little cold bearing in mind the wether outside.

Booked the hotel as it stated a gym on Expedia. Was told by reception that gym use was an additional £20. Checked Expedia details again and in small print, it stated that "pool" use was £20. I only used the gym. Just seems a steep price when youve already paid for a room. The room itself was adequate, very little toileries. (2 x tiny shower gels) and the shower overflowed on the 2 occasions that i used it. Staff were friendly and helpful at breakfast when they wrapped my breakfast to go.

Staff were excellent, on the boil all day.venue was absolutely amazing and the room we stayed in was excellent. Would recommend to everyone. Thanks again to everyone who made our stay very welcoming.

Nice hotel to stay at pick this hotel due to it having a gym, but when looked further into it it was £20 to use the gym just for 1 night, Other than that food was good nice hotel

lovely hotel and would happily stay again my only issue was the room or more precisely the bathroom felt very warn. The window was missing blinds but had the runner for some. The door didn't shut correctly and the shower door was stiff to open and close. The rest of the hotel and our experience was absolutely perfect.

Good quality room. Very clean but room on ground floor has no privacy as over looks car park with only curtains no blinds, so on summer evening had to close curtains for privacy.

Fantastic place, but breakfast between 8 and 9.30 on a Sunday is a bit early

Nice, clean hotel in quiet surroundings however staff came across rather stern and not particularly friendly. Beds were hard and uncomfortable and the walls were thin as we could hear next door coughing all night. Shower was very loud and again we could next doors shower when they turned it on at 5am. Overall it was ok.

Read the fine print before booking. Would not have paid to come here if I’d have realised about the £20 for leisure. Problems of booking in a rush and business taking advantage of it not being fully transparent. Bit of a concrete jungle. Huge bathroom but no bath just shower. Really warm room. Firm mattress, not my preference but otherwise ok. Not noisy. Staff friendly.

Enjoyed it here and would stay again,service and food were good,only criticism is if you don’t book directly with the hotel you have to pay for use of the gym and the spa which isn’t cheap,plus breakfast wasn’t included.
