The hotel was beautiful and very clean. We would totally stay here again, however the temperature in the room was very uncomfortable. We understand eco-friendly temp controls, but the AC unit did not turn on at all during our stay. So we were very uncomfortable and did not sleep well. We had maintenance come take a look, we even called down to the front desk and no one knew how to fix it. Would totally stay again if the Units actual worked and not temp controlled.

We were very impressed with our stay at The Heartwood. The lobby, rooms, and "Snug" areas were comfortable and classy, the people at the front desk were very welcoming and helpful, and the location to restaurants and the beautiful Vassar campus was perfect. We will definitely stay here again.

This property is stunning and the staff were exceptional. The continental breakfast was also delightful! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Great staff, great location, lovely rooms. Our only complaint is the complicated espresso machine vs coffee maker in the room coupled with no coffee or breakfast available til 7am. We had to be out the door at 630. Luckily there's a great bagel place within walking distance.

The Heartwood is very clean and still feels shiny and new. The front desk is welcoming, beds are comfortable and fresh. We are repeat visitors.

The hotel is modern but so warm and inviting. The beds are extremely comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was tasty and I truly appreciated being able to order a cappuccino as well. Perfect stop on our road trip through Vassar!

Amazing

The Heartwood is a very nice new hotel right on the Vassar College campus. The decor throughout was modern yet warm. Our room was very nice, with a comfortable king bed, modern and spacious bathroom, nice decor and a large wall-mounted TV. Given how expensive other nice hotels were in the Poughkeepsie / New Paltz area, I highly recommend this hotel, as it was reasonably priced and quite nice, with friendly and attentive staff.

This is an excellent hotel in every respect. Very nicely designed, clean and new, beautiful surroundings and lovely staff. Right across the street from Vassar’s lovely campus and we even arrived to find an eclectic farmer’s market on a Thursday evening. The price midweek was also incredible value, although it basically would have doubled if we’d stayed another night.

Just off the Vassar campus and a couple blocks from dining district (heavy on pizza, Mexican and other student-friendly fare, but some “real” restaurants also), with on-site parking lot that has several charging stations. Parklike setting with seating areas outdoors and also in the lobby. On-site restaurant was NOT $50-$100 as Google reports! More like $30-$40, and we enjoyed our selections and drinks. Excellent breakfast buffet included with room. Room was all you’d expect from a nice hotel, with complimentary robe for use during your stay, modern bathroom with very plush towels, and a one-cup espresso maker. (Pillows were too fat for my preference, tho.) very happy with our stay.

I liked the mid century modern styling and the shower was great. The food was good at the restaurant and the staff was very attentive. I’d go back if I’m in the area
