For me, staying at the Leland Hotel was a truly unique experience. I had never before stayed at lodgings where every aspect of the service provided to guests was managed electronically. This included both check-in and check-out procedures, and all the amenities within the accommodation from motion-sensing bathroom lights to available streaming videos, to safe and secure door locking mechanisms. The most surprising and delightful aspect of this was a trainee desk clerk named Paula who staffed the registration desk's electronic kiosk. She was courteous, helpful, attentive and highly competent in every possible way. As a senior woman, I might have easily felt that interacting with hotel staff via electronic connection, as opposed to face-to-face, was daunting. However, Paula's kind and reassuring presence resulted in an experience which was both pleasant and efficiently managed. I wish to commend this trainee for her kind and respectful service. She is a credit to the Leland Hotel establishment in every possible way and she deserves to be commended!

Comfortable enough for a small family, but tight in a room with 2 beds and no chair or luggage rack.

Very technically (AI) hotel. Close to Sanford Hospital and it was clean. No frils but very decent.

Check in was done via screen, not necessarily bad but different. No one was at the front desk so who could we go to with issues? All the windows in room were unlocked. There were ants all over the bathroom and small flies throughout the room. The sheets were itchy. My daughter now has a rash. My kids actually wanted to sleep in the car versus the room we had. Honestly it’s more of a motel than hotel. This is the worst hotel experience I’ve had on Hotels.com. I personally will not stay at this property again. Disappointed in Hotels.com for working with this property.

The walls of this hotel room are thinner than paper. We could hear our neighbors next door like they were in our own room.

Had a wonderful stay! Great staff, clean and well organized room, and very walkable.

I liked they texted the key code to you to enter your room. Also that it had two separate bedrooms. Alfred was very accommodating.

It’s very very basic

This property was clean and updated. Good value and close to restaurants on California Ave. Only negative is that it is that the water temp is dangerously hot. I'm surprised if no one has scalded themselves. Was very tricky to get the shower to a comfortable, safe temp. Otherwise, a good stay in a clean nice room.

Room quality ok. Front desk after about 7pm is a guy on a monitor who wasn’t able to help me on 2 occasions. TV was not functional. Staff didn’t refresh the coffee in our room. Lots to nitpick, better places for the price elsewhere.

The room was very clean and comfortable. I really liked the locks on the door it would let you know when the door was opened .

Great place

You can tell this was a dive motel that people have purchased and tried to make nice. There is no closet and the hooks on the walls for hangers come out of the wall easily. We didn’t sleep most of the night because the cars are six feet from your door and the constant comings and goings of people was noticeable. This would have been a better experience on the second floor, further away from the car noise.
