This was my favourite stay in my trip. Greeted at the entrance by a staff member whoofferex me a cokd towel and drink while they checked me in. Room was lovely. I gad difficulty with the room temperature and staff dealt eith ut whike I was at dinner. They took a photo of the remote and labelled it in English for me. The food is the highlight! It is a fixed menu full of drlightes each evening. There was miscommunication about my dietary requirements on the first night and chef made me a different course in the moment. Do rake their advice and get a taxi from station. Wonderful all round.

What a dream location and hotel (I almost don't want to share this review because it will be impossible to get a room in the future!) Nestled in the midst of a park above the town, with unbeatable views and 5-star service, this renovated hotel feels like a hip retreat experience. Getting up the steep hill requires a taxi ride or a car, but once you are there you pretty much won't want to move. First, because you are within a park where you can walk to an observatory or an art museum. Then because both the cafe and rooftop bar offer incredible drinks/views, the restaurant serves the most authentic Japanese breakfast we had anywhere, and the loungewear and onsen just encourage relaxation. We felt like we were in a ryokan in a combo of Brooklyn,NY and the Berkshires, MA in the US! Because we were there peak cherry-blossom season the views were even more gorgeous- but this spot is divine and the spacious, luminous rooms allow you to really enjoy every little bit. Stay at least 2-3 nights so you can explore the area and town as well- and be sure to reserve for dinner or breakfast before you arrive- the chef needs advance notice to create their visually stunning, delicate menu items.

Charming hillside hotel with fantastic views. The room was spacious, clean, modernised with the exception of the bathroom which is still more of a traditional, dated Japanese bathroom, however, it was still very clean and of course functioning well. The Japanese breakfast in the morning was very lovely, accompanied by great views again. The lobby has a cafe where they do great latte art. There’s also a letter room where you can print photos and send letter which was a nice touch. Overall I really enjoyed my stay. One note of caution, this really is a hillside hotel, we initially planned to walk because google map says it was 16 minutes but it would be quite a trek up hill with very narrow paths so driving / taxi would be the way to go and there’s a taxi rank at the station which would be about a 10 mins journey and <1500 yen.

Great little hotel in Onomichi with a superb view - particularly sunset and sunrise. Tip: cab it from the station. (I walked up many, many, many steep steps to get there. Learn from my mistake!)

Fantastic minimalist style hotel overlooking the harbour. Great views from bar and main rooms. On site onsen! The food is absolutely amazing - proper local foods beautifully prepared and presented. Treat yourself to dinner and a breakfast. And the staff are wonderful. Note you will need to use a taxi frequently but that shouldn’t cost more than 1400 yen each way. There are also rooms for those with bikes

The staff was super helpful in every way imaginable. The view from the hotel was great! It’s on top of a hill. Probably a rough walk to town but the dinner there was great and rooftop bar as well so I didn’t go into town for my one night stay. The only weird thing is it wasn’t on Google maps and my taxi driver didn’t know where it was. If you use “sen coffee” however Google maps will take you there.

The room was very clean, and very spacious. Beds were comfortable (two twin beds), as were the pillows. Washroom was on the smaller size. Staff were absolutely amazing at this hotel. The view of the town and river from the room was perfect. In room amenities were also nice, the self brew coffee was pretty good. We really enjoyed our time at the Onomichi Club and would stay there again. It is a little hard to get to by foot. Especially from the train station, if you have luggage, pay the extra money for a taxi to take you up to the hotel. It is money well spent.

The staff at this hotel bend over backwards to accommodate any request! And the views over the town and across the water to the many islands in the area are the best we saw. Truly you won’t go wrong with this small, lovely hotel!

Beautify property up on the hill with stunning view. The room is clean and the beds are so wide and comfortable. Amenities are good quality and has everything you. Red in the guest room. But it’s a luck of atmosphere and ambience.

We stayed here for one night during a 3-week trip to Japan and it was the best hotel of our trip (among many great ones!) The hotel was new and spotless, with wonderful interior design and all kinds of luxurious touches like loungewear sets you could mix and match for yourself and a free bowl of mini-ramen. The staff was incomparably kind and professional. And the view was out of this world. We got an “economy twin” with “extra large twin” beds and found one bed large enough to fit both of us, two medium-sized people. The rooftop bar, where you get the mini-ramen, has great cocktails and amazing staff who offered to take our photo. Our of everywhere we visited in Japan, Onomichi was the place we most wanted to come back to again, in large part because of this hotel.

Everything about Onomichi Club was exquisite. The location, the views, the cafe, the restaurant the baths and the room. This was our last stop on our 10 day trip to Japan and it was the perfect spot to end in. I highly recommend it!

The staff was corteous and helpful but I do not recommebd the hotel because it's located on top of a hill, making it very inconvenient if you want to get food outside of the hotel. The taxi ride from Onomichi JR station costs about JPY1,300 each way, so if you want to go down to the streets to explore and eat you will have to pay about JPY2,600 for the round trip. What really shocked me was the hotel breakfast. It costs JPY2,200 and at that price you would expect to be full but there was tiny amount of food (one thumbnail size bit of fish, one tiny piece of omelette, and very small varieties of condiments plus a bowl of rice and miso soup. I had visited an upscale onsen in Uno (by Naoshima island) and the sumptuous lunch set there cost JPY2,100 with so much delicious seasonal food, making me feel deprived by the breakfast set at the Onomichi Club. Again, the staff was very nice but this hotel has poor value for the money. I should have stayed at the Green Hill hotel right by the JR Onomichi station.
