Tour Itinerary

00-08:15 Meet up at the hotel lobby (within Bangkok)
00-10:00 First stop – Wat Niwet Thammaprawat, a living display of Western-influenced Thai temple from 200 years ago! Wat Niwet Thammaprawat is a temple located on a small island, of which architecture, as influenced by Western art at the time, was uniquely built in Gothic Revival style.
00-11:00 The next stop is at Bang Pa-In Palace, a summer palace first initiated in 1632 by King Prasat Thong of Ayutthaya and expanded by later kings. Bang Pa-In Palace is a compound of building in mixed architectural styles, varying from Thai to Chinese-influenced and European Gothic-influenced.
Please be informed that it is not allowed to enter into the palace buildings – only the compound area is open to public.
00-12:00 Now move on to Wat Phanan Choeng, a pre-Ayutthaya temple built in 1324 and, there, marvel at the gigantic Buddha image.
00-13:00 Lunch time – let’s go for a meal at a local eatery!
00-14:00 After getting satisfied with tasty local food, it’s time for a shopping spree at Ayothaya Floating Market where you can bring home some souvenirs.
00-15:00 Visit Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, a temple first built by King U-Thong, the first king of Ayutthaya reign, in 1357. A photogenic holy site, Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon is teeming with enormous pagodas and numerous rows of Buddha images of various gestures.
00-17:30 Move forward to Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, likewise, constructed under the reign of King U-Thong. Then, it was the temple of the royal family where no monk lived and was used exclusively for royal ceremonies. But it was, sadly, completely destroyed when Ayutthaya was conquered in the great war. Today – the three Chedis, standing tall as they were supposed to – is the fruit of restoration in 1956, while the rest in the temple compound is foundations, preserved just as the way they have been since the destruction.
30-19:00 Get some rest while on the way back to Bangkok
00-19:15 Drop off at the meeting point
