Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport - The Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport or also known as Tacloban City Airport is a public domestic airport that connects the city of Tacloban and its general area with other places in the Philippines, acting as a major gateway into the Eastern Visayas Region from Manila and Cebu. The airport can be found at DZR Airport Complex, San Jose, which is about 13 kilometers away from the town center of Tacloban. Just like other airports in the Philippines, this airport is operated by Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines. It has a runway that is 2,138 meters in length and is made of asphalt. Among the airlines that operate in this airport is Cebu Pacific, Philippines AirAsia as well as Philippine Airlines with destinations heading to and from Cebu, Clark and Manila. From the airport, it is easy to go in and out to the city area because there is a handful of transportation available in the Daniel Z.   • MacArthur Landing Memorial National Park - MacArthur Landing Memorial National Park or also known as the Leyte Landing Memorial Park or MacArthur Park is a protected area in Barangay Candahug near Leyte and Tacloban that is meant to commemorate the landing of General Douglas MacArthur to initiate the campaign to liberate the Philippines from the Japanese. This would eventually lead to the largest naval battle of World War II. Comprising a 6.78 hectares coastal plain that contains seven double-life-sized bronze statues on a manmade pool, these statues reflect MacArthur and entourage during the said landing.
  • Madonna of Japan - Standing right in front of Magsaysay Boulevard and Cancabato Bay, Madonna of Japan is a statue that has been gifted to Tacloban by Japan to honor the friendship between the Filipinos and the Japanese, 33 years after the end of World War II. Also known as the Icon of the Goddess of Peace, the statue is meant to remember the fallen soldiers in the war primarily.
  • Santo Niño Shrine and Heritage Museum - Among the highly visited tourist destinations in the area, the museum is home to hundreds of artifacts, antiques and art pieces around the world which has been collected during the reign of the Marcos regime. Located in Real St, Downtown, Tacloban, the museum charges about 200-230 pesos for a tour around the museum.
