I was looking for basic, clean overnight accommodation for myself only, near a venue I was to attend. Not a huge room, but ideal for my needs with a single bed and a private bathroom and toilet. Extremely helpful and courteous staff on hand 24/7. Handy to have a cafe open from 7am on the ground floor, unsure if this is actually part of the hotel or a private business. But perfect location. Will definitely look at this hotel again if I need accommodation in that area. Thank you !

I have stayed in the Best Western Melbourne many times. It is great value for money for a solo traveller. It is right at the corner of spencer st and flinders st so there are many public transport options. The skybus terminus is very close. The shoebox room is perfectly fine. Although my room this trip had a window onto a very dark space so there was no natural light. Other rooms I have had either have a fliders st view or into a brighter atrium so I preferred these ones. The bathroom is tiny with a mini sink, toilet and shower. Although the shower opening is VERY small.. There is a small 32 inch TV with just the basic channels. There is a kettle with teabags instant cofee and a mini fridge with a UHT milk. The Cafe downstairs is fab. It has breakfast, lunch and dinner and some large TV's with the footy or sport on. Has a bar as well. I will return again.

Very convenient location - close to Southern Cross, DFO, trams, supermarkets. Staff were friendly and helpful. Noise was minimal even being on road side. Only thing would be the shower door being so small/tight.

It was a great price & close to the Conference centre, a lovely quirky little hotel. Honest (I stayed in a 'Shoebox' room) but the bed was very comfortable and the shower was amazing. I would recommend it and stay there again. The only down side was the half sized ironing board.

The location is fantastic and the price was good value. The staff are excellent and the room was clean. However, both the hotel room and the bathrom were tiny. The bathroom sink was so small that I couldn't even put my toiletries bag on it. The room was fine for one night before heading to the airport, but I woudn't want to stay in such a small room for more than one night.

I would rate my stay below average. The property is quite out dated, and unfortunately there was an electrical issue during our stay. Many of the power sockets in the room were not working, which meant we couldn't use basic appliances such as a hair dryer, coffee machine, or electric shaver. What was most frustrating was that guests were not informed of the issue beforehand. We only discovered the problem after repeatedly trying different appliances and then contacting reception. Initially, the staff seemed unaware of the situation, and only later acknowledged that there was a known electrical problem. By the time an alternative room was offered, we had less than 90 minutes before checkout, making the solution largely impractical. Had we been informed earlier, we could have planned accordingly. The lack of communication and the inconvenience caused significantly impacted our stay.
