Clean and spacious

Avoid- valuables stolen out of case by housekeeping We stayed for 2 nights at Drifter in a private dorm. We noticed after housekeeping entered whilst we were out that a $200 perfume, dollars & a bikini had been stolen out of our open cases. We reported this immediately and was told it would be taken seriously and the manager would contact us in the morning. Whilst we were there another girl asked if we had items stolen as she has had things go missing also. No contact in the morning despite us saying we had to leave by a certain time to collect a hire car. The manager eventually came down and explained that as the housekeeper has worked there 3 months they are trusted and a ‘long shot’ camera in the corridor captured them with nothing in their hands. I think if you stole something you would know about cameras and how you leave the room? Was utterly disappointed and disgusted with how ‘Scott’ dealt with this. He was smarmy & condescending informing they won’t proceed with anything and ‘hopefully it will turn up in our luggage’. So offensive, we turned our cases up and down to find as soon as we realised. I paid $1000 for these 2 nights but price doesn’t matter, it’s the principle of violating our privacy and how this was dealt with. We have followed up with a police report and will be dealing with it this way. Just disgusting

Well located, spacious room and staff were very helpful

It is a 5 star Hostel, nothing compares to it, it has everything you need.

Spacious clean and comfortable room. Staff were all very friendly and super helpful. All facilities were fantastic.

It’s really more of a hostel than a hotel. Very noisy. Great central location though.

Great affordable stay at Vali by Village with a private en-suite room. Bedroom was a great size with a comfy bed and clean. Check in/out was very quick and easy, staff very friendly and helpful. Convenient location, quick 5 minute walk to the main beach with plenty of bars and restaurants around.

Of course it was the day after the Blues Festival but the hallways were littered with trash.

Nice room, good location, great value

Central spot on Byron Bay.

Room was small but clean. Overall the building is noisy. Constant noise in the hallway and doors opening and closing. It did quiet down later on but was woken up around 2AM by noisy people in the hall.

Great central location, although not a good view if that is important to you. Feels kind of “back-alley” but super close to the main shopping area in Byron. Clean, always smelled so good! Was nervous about the noise, being a hostel, but we have a room at the end of the hall and it was always very quiet. Would definitely stay here again!

Great staff, great stay

Staff were wonderful, location was perfect and rooms were clean and well maintained.

Great location and great service, got upgraded to the Cosy Corner, which was much appreciated as we booked for a 5 nights stay. Great room with a beautiful canopy bed. Surprised it was a boutique hotel/hostel as it wasn't mentioned in the description of the hotel but still happy with the premises along with the helpful staff.

Having stayed at the property regularly over the last 5 years, it pains me to say that since the new ownership group have taken over, the place has changed for the worse. No daily cleaning, change of towels, housekeeping. Backpacker vibe has returned and it is very much a party hotel with loud music and conversations in hallways until sunrise. Hotel rates for a backpacker experience. Unfortunately, will not be staying here again.

This is a lovely Hostel with private rooms. If you are looking for a close walking distance from the beach and a convenient central location this will be best for you The Hostel is in a side street above Aldi not a great view etc but definitely safe and clean. Lots of travellers and young people but if you only needing a room to sleep and mostly out it will be a perfect choice

So convenient and the room we had was a lot better than our expectation. Their staff at the reception were very friendly as well. We would definitely go back!
