Hotel Mercure Vienna First

I enjoyed my stay at Mercure Vienna First. The staff (Lila) was very pleasant and always ready to assist me. The room was very clean, in order, comfortable, and quiet. In short, a place I highly recommend!

Good location. Friendly staff. Clean and newly refurbished. Would have preferred to have had 2 single beds as an option but knew from booking this wasn’t available. Reception smelt amazing!

Hotel, front (reception), and restaurant staff were fun. Issues hotel only is a relatively small hotel so it seemed understaffed. I sent an email via the Expedia app and never received a response. Tried regular customer email and got a nonsensical email, it’s possible that the staff member who responded didn’t understand because English is not her first language. The biggest issue is I placed a sign on my hotel room door for no housekeeping services but I could tell some entered my room without my permission (or to a certain extent). The room was partially cleaned like trash roomed and now towels are hanging on the wall. Bed wasn’t made and no new toilet paper rolls. If the staff member was not going to follow directions to not clean then I expect them not to enter my room. If staff member is going to enter then cleaning correctly is expected. I don’t know if this is a cultural issue but I never had this type of experience in all my travels.

Clean and quiet room. Basic amenities supplied but no hair conditioner or body lotion. The cleaning team came into my room before I had checked out - the hotel should notify the cleaning team once guests have checked out before coming to clean the room.

Great location. No service (person seldomly at desk) Underperforming Air Conditioning. Was 28 degrees in room. Asked for maintenance. Maintenance came and told us it was normal. Loaned us a fan. Horrible pillows bad bed. Would try something else.

The hotel was in an excellent position and the staff were very friendly and helpful with providing local information. The room itself was a bit dark with the curtains open perhaps due to the small window but mainly due to the dark grey decor which was a little tired in places. The double sliding mirror doors to the bathroom was quirky but not ideal for me ,however 10/10 for the rain shower which was perfect in my opinion. As said great location and particularly if you like the local friendly bars and some good craft beer. A few minutes walk from the Ubahn and the busy centre for a true Vienna experience.

This hotel is excellent. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Any query was answered expertly. The room is very well decorated and every need is catered to. Highly recommend this hotel. It is also in a great location.

I cannot give this hotel enough compliments.! Everything about our stay was fantastic. The room was fabulous amd the entire staff was very helpful and pleasant. Overall great experience!

The hotel was great. Our room was clean and had everything we needed in it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with decent selection. The location was great for us, as we could walk everywhere around the city centre.
