Gallant Hotel

Good honest hotel at a very dangerous location. It has parking and possible to take über until the subway and connect to the whole city. Subway within a walking distance but very deserted and dangerous surroundings.

Easy check-in and out. Comfortable rooms. Hotel needs to be updated, but still very clean and perfect for the 2 nights we stayed.

The photos doesn’t match with the facility status. The front desk and area right in front is dirty, homeless people and everything specially the front desk is completely out of date and scare. I felt very unsafe.

A basic budget accommodation. Good for a quick stay 10 minutes away from the airport, but I wouldn’t spend multiple nights here

Good hotel to stay if attending a conference at the conference center. In walking distance to metro, although the neighborhood has no nightlife after dark

This hotel was located well outside the center of the city avoiding the high prices and other fees, but so close to the metro that all you have to do is get a pre-paid metro card and go anywhere. We used the metro all over the place leaving the car parked at the free garage provided by the hotel. The breakfast was nice, even that they don't have that many choices for natural juices. Also the restaurant service, for dinner is not that great, this is managed by another company and the food is not that great. Better to use a chicken place close to the hotel, just 5 minutes walk. Everything is clean and the hotel is old but renovated, providing LCD TVs, safe and nice bedding. I will stay here again with no problems.

In the praça da bandeira neighborhood, not too nice to do anything in Rio. Had to stay close to business, but rather travel from Botafogo or Flamengo areas...

Average hotel. Reasonable price and good for a stay before a flight the next morning.

Hotel is conveniently located next to the Sul America Convention Center. I, however, would not stay there again as the hotel is old, tiny bugs kept showing up on the desk, staff didn't seem to enjoy what they were doing. I would rather pay more and stay in a much nicer hotel.

The hotel is a good value. Rooms are large. Breakfast buffet is good. Hotel is close to the subway - provides good connections to the beautiful Rio beaches

Most disappointing. Had difficulty getting our room as reservation was listed only in my name- not allowing my wife to enter room unless additional charge was exacted. Would not tolerate this unprofessionalism. Manager finally relented. Gallant Hotel needs major renovation to it's interior.

It was a good place to stay. Close to the Metro. Breakfast was very good.

Stayed for one night in January with a group of friends, experienced some issues with the main elevator but hotel staff were efficient in inviting us to use the service elevator as temporary solution. Breakfast is great and hotel location is not bad, as you can easily use it as starting point to the main attractions of the city. Room was ok with comfortable bed and clean and tidy bathroom.

Just a few hour stay while waiting for a late night flight out of Rio. Free parking, close to the Red Line which gives easy access for driving to the beaches, downtown and airports. Front staff spoke excellent english. Room was spacious and clean. Very reasonable room rate. Obviously geared for business travelers and conventions.

This place was great! It's a short walk to the metro station Estacio, maybe 1/3 mile. We used the metro to get downtown, to the beaches, and to Maracana. One review said "bad neighborhood," but we didn't think so at all! The service was great and the taxi ride was about $R40 to Galeao airport. Much cheaper than the bigger hotels downtown.

I was attending a conference at Sul America Convention Centre & nothing can be more convenient than this hotel across the road! They offered a spacious corner room on 6th floor, with an excellent view & a private sauna & jaccuzi !The central Estacio metro station connecting to all major tourist spots in Rio is at a stone's throw. A very friendly & helpful Uruguan taxi driver, Mr. Alekondro, attached to this hotel, took us all around the city for two days, going out of way & explaining everything in English in detail.Only incovenience probably was the restarant which is closed in the lunch hours, though room service was available. All in all, extremely satisfied staying in Gallant hotel !!

Big room and bathroom, comfy beds, good breakfast with variety, very cheap room service with very good food options. It is vert close to the Metro station that takes you everywhere to the touristic places. The hotel seems outdated just needs a renovation. Very nice staff

Venho por meio deste relatar minha insatisfação com a hospedagem, principalmente pela falta de transparência quanto ao perfil do estabelecimento. Estive no Rio de Janeiro acompanhando minha filha em uma competição esportiva e escolhi o local por sua proximidade. As fotos e a descrição indicavam um hotel comum, motivo pelo qual fiz reserva para uma semana. Ao chegar, fui surpreendido quando a atendente perguntou se minha estadia seria por 3 horas, 6 horas ou pernoite, deixando claro que o local funciona também como motel. Havia inclusive placas oferecendo quartos nesse formato. Mesmo informando que tinha reserva, fui direcionado ao estacionamento G2, onde ficam os quartos com baias individuais. Ao retirar as malas, presenciei situações extremamente constrangedoras, incompatíveis com um ambiente familiar. Inicialmente fui alocado em um quarto no 6º andar, porém o ar-condicionado era muito barulhento. Solicitei troca e fui encaminhado para outro quarto no 5º andar. Embora o quarto fosse amplo e confortável, o contexto do local tornou impossível permanecer ali com uma criança. No dia seguinte, cancelei a reserva. Para minha surpresa, a gerente afirmou que esse tipo de situação “nunca havia ocorrido”, o que considero inaceitável diante do funcionamento evidente do local. Diante disso, reforço que não recomendo este estabelecimento para famílias com filhos, e acredito que deveria haver mais clareza na divulgação do tipo de hospedagem oferecida.
