China World Hotel, Beijing, is one of the longest-standing five-star hotels in the Capital of China. I love its staff and geographical location! The service level is both highly superb and personable. I admit that the hotel is not as new as some of the five-star hotels in Beijing, but it is the "old charm" that gives me a sense of being at my own home! I would highly recommend this hotel to all travelers, both international and Chinese domestic, to fully experience how great this hotel is and has always been!

We stayed here for a week, and have stayed at this property for 20 years. This is an excellent location for Beijing - the mall has lots of food options, easy to get transport, and walking distance to some things (Beijing is just so huge.) The staff are very helpful and accommodating, the property is beautiful, and breakfast is fabulous (it is huge, so look at all the options before you decide.) Highly recommend!

I checked in on Sunday Oct 13. It took 30 minutes waiting in line to check in. The reception staff was completely overwhelmed by the number of people checking in. I expect better service at a 5 star hotel. This is inconsistent with normal Shangri-La standards.

It was generally fine; however, the check in process still has issues as it takes too long and that the staff at the front desk lacks English skills.. The rooms are generally good, but could use a few updates.. Need a general bar area as the lobby lounge is nice, but cold in the winter time..
