Very luxurious hotel. The service is excellent. Breakfast buffet is okay; the room service breakfast is a much better deal. The wake up call I had asked for did not occur. When I complained to the front desk, I was assured that the manager would investigate. I didn’t hear any updates though.

I must say, it is my favorite lodging in Changchun. Compared to the shangri-la I prefer both the rooms and the quieter atmosphere. It is closer to the nightlife area of guilin. On the other hand for a Hyatt as well as the most expensive hotel in the city, I'd say they do the typical 90% is good enough. Focusing on the little things is important, but focusing on the unimportant things is far too little in this case. The staff is genuine and friendly. I stayed on the club level and while I was greeted with smiles I felt as if I was being watched and didn't belong. More than once, over attentive staff followed me around as I went from area to area making me feel as if they were concerned for the silverware in the lounge. Relax Hyatt staff, if I need something. I'll ask. If not, leave me to my own devices. Check in was fine. I was a bit early 1230pm so I waited in the lounge for my room to be prepped. Other than that check in was smooth enough. My room was prepaid, I think asking me to pay more than the room cost for a deposit was a bit rediculous but when I mentioned it, she lowered it by half without hesitation. The room was nice, real nice actually. Beds are comfy. But the ac on all 3 of my stays just won't go low. It's almost like a swamp cooler not an ac unit. I wasn't exactly hot, but I certainly wasn't comfortable either. Room service leaves much to be desired. In this area, they are indeed prompt. Wrong food, the food they did bring just simply isn't up to hyatt standard.

It's a brand new hotel, opened in 2016. The room was large and a typical Hyatt room, a bit sterile. Service was excellent. And the breakfast buffet was great. The hotel is located outside the city center and next to a park. Didn't see any interesting restaurants nearby.

Rooms are fantastic and staff was friendly and helpful. Good amenities. There were two problems: (1) the pool was very dirty by internatiinal standards, and did not have any chlorine in it; and (2) the restaurants only had a B rating from the local hygiene authorities. I didn't notice anyroblems with cleanliness in the guest rooms but a luxury hotel should be 100% perfectly clean in every area as a basic starting point.

Great hotel but it is not so great to try to save on energy on the expense of comfort!! The staff have deliberately rigged the air-condition to have a temperature no less than 24 degree, no matter what you do. Even when you call them to come take a look at it, they set it up to the maximum cooling yet it cannot reach less than 24 C. what a shame!!
