Hotel Tocarema

Classic hotel with a beautiful pool, nice bar and good food. The rooms need some upgrades specially the bathrooms. The staff is lovely, so overall a nice experience.

No le ponen atención en la recepción a los huéspedes. Tuve que esperar 30 minutos para que me atendieran, y eso que había sólonuna familia adelante. Solicité más personal y me dijeron que no había. Me quejé nuevamente y resulta que sí había otra persona disponible. No vayán a este hotel. Mal trato desde el principio. Y las instalaciones son de hace 100 años!

El hotel vive de su vieja gloria, de ser administrado por narcos en los 90s. Aspectos positivos: la piscina es enorme, luce limpia y tiene zonas profundas donde es agradable flotar para quien sabe nadar. Suficientes asoleadoras, mesas con sombrilla y sillas, lindos arboles y palmeras dando sombra parcial a la piscina. El bar a orillas de la piscina es genial. El kiosko del restaurane es lindo. De la habitacion: Amplia, cama cómoda, no muy blanda, tv aceptable, espejos grandes y varios en la habitacion, balcon con vista a la piscina y mesa con sillas para departir allí. Agua caliente Aspectos a mejorar La recepcion esta escondida, las flores que usan no son naturales, el piso requiere remodelaciones prioritarias pues se ve muy viejo y agrietado. La habitación tenía una gotera pequeña que no afectó nuestra comodidad pero que evidentemente no es agradable. El closet ya requiere refacción, el teléfono tiene mas de 20 años y muchisima interferencia para la comunicacion, la habitacion es muy oscura, solo hay luz de techo en la entrada y en el baño, el resto de la habitacion solo tiene dos lamparas de luz calida muy tenue. Se podria remodelar dando mas espacio al baño reduciendo un poco la habitacion. El desayuno no está incluido y el servicio de comidas es excesivamente costoso sin tener calidad excepcional, es apenas normal, eso desmotiva demasiado pues la idea para muchos es alojarnos y no tener que salir a nada, pero la comida deja mucho que desear por sus altos precios.

Is a old hotel, to expensive for the conditions of the rooms

We have stayed there a few times before. The price has gone up and they don’t have complimentary breakfast anymore. It’s getting old and needs much work. Not worth the money anymore.

I think this property is showing its age (72 years) already. Some better maintenance and some investment in renovating the rooms is needed.

The hotel is a bit old , definitely can use some remodeling, and the area is no the safest at late hours

The hotel is beautiful and very romantic. It feels more like a resort than a hotel. The pool is huge! We love it, stayed in all day. The staff was so friendly and very attentive and available.live music at night, beautiful property, safe and did I mention, romantic! The room is dated. I love the hotel and don't want to say anything bad but it could use some renovation. Small TV, clunky shower, hard bed. It doesn't feel 5 star for that reason. The cute parts of town are quite a ways walking. There's not much around the hotel. BUT I want to reiterate that this is a romantic place that you don't want to leave. The weather, the palm trees, the pool, the staff, the music. I loved it. Just trying to manage North American expectations

The hotel is showing its age, but it still has the charm of the regal hotel of its heyday. The rooms are large, the beds are comfortable and the pool area is beautiful. All the staff were extremely friendly.

The hotel offers a traveler a nice place to relax or be somewhat active if they choose. The pool is large and inviting and there are tennis courts and a gym. The service staff outside is very attentive. Unfortunately, the WIFI is TERRIBLE! There was NO WiFi outside the room and the WiFi inside the room was inconsistent. The bathrooms need to be updated. The gym needs some serious air conditioning. No one at the front desk spoke any English. And the concierge and others at the front were reluctant to help you find anything outside the hotel.

excellent staff, clean premises, air conditioning could be less noisy, people from overseas needs to be aware of extra charges for personal insurance, pool was outstanding, i would go back again.

The hotel is very well conserved for its age. It is a place very clean and the staff is really good. Excel the service. The food is up to the standard. Its problem is the noise in rooms.

Hotel is very old and was probably the crown jewel about 20 years ago. Rooms are outdated with old cheap furniture. The bed in our suite was very hard and uncomfortable. Each room in the hotel has white tiles in the room that attracts dirt into the rooms from the pool area and ecological walk areas. The rooms lack color and warmth. The facilities such as the pool are excellent and has very kid friendly areas they can use. The food is excellent in the hotel and I have to say it beats the quality of most of the bigger Bogota chains hands down. Prices for their excellent drinks and food are very reasonable. One thing that bothered me about my stay was that I had to pay for the room upfront at check-in and then at check-out all the meals and additional charges to the room.

If you are looking for a fabulous property in this warm climate area of Colombia, there is no better. The food is very "local Colombian" style and excellent. The ambiance and character of the hotel was delightful.
