Most fantastic hotel to stay at in Denmark

My reception at check-in was great. A pleasant woman upgraded my room to a water view when she learned that it was my first stay at the hotel. My room was clean and spacious. The public spaces are comfortable and well laid out. I enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee in the library that was excellent. The restaurant appears to be top-notch but the price for dinner was not appropriate for my business trip. My breakfast was outstanding in terms of food quality, variety, service, and atmosphere. I will return to this hotel the next time I am on Funen.

Excellent beachside location with view of Baltic and the magnificent Storebælt (The Great Belt Bridge). Pool, spa, tennis on premises. Walk out door to nature, historic sites, and shopping.

Comfortable, very food food, stay only at the renovated rooms floor 4.

I have no idea what all the good reviews are for, but we were incredibly disappointed in our stay! The room was stuffy and horribly hot. We opened one window (no screens) and had to kill some spiders to do it. We couldn't open the other one because the spider on the outside of that window was HUGE and even my husband didnt want to get near it. He stood in the open window for a few minutes keeping an eye on the monster to make sure it didn't come into the open window while we were trying to get some air. Screens would be helpful. The hot tub wasn't hot at all, like lukewarm bath water. The breakfast was ok. But after a hot night and both of us not sleeping well because of it, we we excited to get out of there. Fridge in room doesn't work at all so don't come needing to keep medication or food cold. We told the front desk people about the hot room, fridge problem and cold hot tub and they just shrugged. This place is NOT worth the high cost! We paid more here than anywhere on our 3 week trip and it was the worst place by far.

There were only rooms with single beds available, I preferred a double. So a quick request to the hotel, via Hotels.com, produced quick and courteous confirmation that they would put the two single beds together and make up as a double. The room was excellent, with a sunset balcony. Dinner outside on the terrace, with a beautiful view, made this tiring business trip very comfortable. Thank you Heselet.

Good food, good view and good room and bed.

This has got to be the best hotel in Denmark. Fantastic location Early morning swim in the sea followed by Breakfast on the terrace. The owner came over to say hello and asked how we were. Don’t go anywhere else

Local area was absolutely beautiful, restaurant was amazing, but the room needed some air conditioning and sound proofing.

I was staying for business so didn't get much chance to explore but the hotel is right on the seafront. The room was well equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable. All the staff were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful.

Highly recommended to stay over weekend as conference traffic is not present and can enjoy all the ammenities in peace...

Good hotel to be in

We come back every year, we absolutely love the location, the hotel, and the breakfast. The hotel is family-run and has a very homey feel to it. Doesn't feel like a commercial hotel. The staff are friendly and nice and it is literally on the beach. We usually go during January, even though it's too cold to jump in the water we always take strolls or runs on the beach. The view is amazing and we always enjoy the food at Hotel Hesselet very much. It's a great Danish experience to stay at this hotel!

Horrendously expensive evening meal

Super view over the Great Belt. Large, comfortable rooms. Excellent restaurant although it is very pricy.

The way it use to be!

Wonderful hotel - would stay here again in a heartbeat! The price was excellent for the high quality of the hotel.

The Hesselet is situated close to the sea and from my room and the restaurant the views were wonderful. Staff are very competent and friendly making my stay a very pleasant experience. The food was exceptional, not particularly varied but beautifully cooked and presented. My room was large and very comfortable and the WiFi reception did not falter. Located 5 minutes taxi ride from the train station , the hotel is very convenient.

Apparently this hotel was rated the best hotel in Denmark. I have to almost agree. The interiors of the rooms could use some renovations but I guess that's part of the look. Everything was clean and neat and awesome. The view was fantastic we got the Seaside View.
