I did not like it. At check in I was given the rooms in separate houses when I have children. When I requested to be together in the same little house one of the Clerk told me he didnt care. The other told me what was they supposed to do to take the people out of their room. All i asked was to be together since my booking was with my children. One of the bed was broken. No soap was given to us. The food was salty and I found hair in my food twice. The only thing I liked was the beer. Other that I will never go back to this place again.

This property is absolutely terrible and old. Ants all in bathroom, ac not working, food was absolutely disgusting and staff are incredibly rude. Also the pics listed on Expedia are not the actual pics. They have a sister property next to it that is a really nice resort and they use those pics to list on Playabachata resort page which is catfishing and not as it seems. Please be wary I highly do not recommend. As someone who’s traveled a lot and stayed at many resorts especially in Dominican Republic I can confidently and whole heartedly say that staying at Playabachata was the absolute worst resort I’ve ever stayed at. It’s both a shame and disgrace to have that “resort” in the beautiful country of DR and beautiful town of puerto plata which is the birth place of tourism in the Caribbean.

Was a lot of food. Beds are old and i was having a oltnof pain,me and my mother. They need to change beds. Peoples like cleaning and by food areas they were wonderful. From desk not that nice. A lot good food.

The food was the same everyday and it was cold! The electricity would turn off constantly. The beach area was ok until the wind hit and all you had was sand all over and could not even enjoy tanning. It’s an overall old resort. There was one time we came from the beach and into dinner and they didn’t let us in even though we were covered but the next day someone else was dressed the same and they were allowed which was unfair.

They should eliminate the personnel trying to get people to get a membership for the resort, I think that is killing tourism

Resort out dated

Food was great, staff was kind and rooms were clean. Had some free activities like wind surfing and kayaking! Beaches were well maintained and beautiful. Our toilet wouldn’t flush and there was poor water pressure. The room style is also very outdated, some drawers wouldn’t open or their handles would break. You will need to rent an adapter for your charger for 3USD (refundable deposit) since three prong chargers don’t fit in rooms.

The foods are excellent and staff are great

Service at the front desk was poor, basically rude. Not a good start. It got better after reporting a plumbing problem. However, it took 2 trips to finally fix the problem. The property was extremely pretty and nice--loved the 8 room condo-like buildings! And the beaches with trees--phenomenal--maybe the prettiest I've ever seen. Lots of privacy, though wish people didn't honk their horns like they do in the Dominican.

The property is good enough for the price. Meanwhile, it’s impossible to contact reception, the WiFi is the worst, at the same time that the website advertises free WiFi on property. There is no outlet to charge anything in the rooms. One must go to the lobby to charge, get a little WiFi and talk to someone in reception.
