Property is very tired and £20 parking for 24hrs if you spend more than 5-mins in the car park dropping off / picking up luggage is a rip-off. Bath was filthy, black mould around the handles of the bath and the shower's non-slip mat must have been left in place for decades as it's left round welt marks on the white bath porcelain. Water took forever to warm up (bit like everything at this hotel, even the free wifi was very slow). Bedroom windows were all painted shut so even in 30c heat, no chance of getting any fresh air into the room. Couple of old tower fans provided in the room, but they were full of dust, just grubby and dirty. Lack of electric sockets in the bedroom, none near the bed unless you've got an 1960's British 3-pin round plug with you. Car parking literally 5-mins around the corner is free between 5pm and 9am, then £10 for the rest of the day. Location overlooking the sea is okay but there are better hotels at same price in the area. Didn't use the gym facilities in their 'sister' property The Carlton next door.

Bar and restaurant are closed. You have to pay for parking when you arrive. Staff are helpful. The area it's in is very run down.

The hotel is not staffed properly. A makeshift reception not manned all the time. No facilities such as bar, restaurant, pool etc. All facilities are at the sister Hotel down the road. The room was 30 degrees plus and no air conditioning. Two pathetic fans offered virtually no air movement. This place is just a room and not as advertised. The whole experience was terrible and I feel sorry for people who have booked in good faith especially families attending for a summer vacation. We saw people with disabilities struggling up steps to access with no assistance from staff. They also had to walk to the sister hotel for any drinks, food or other amenities. Most guests had complaints. There is cleaning on request for rooms but communal areas were not regularly cleaned. A very poor experience and my advice is do not book. The most horrendous experience and parking cost me an extra £35. Parking is not included in the booking. I feel I have been duped and am seeking redress from the company I arranged my stay with. Do not stay at this hotel it is a shambles.

I don't know why this establishment is still operating. They should close down. No access to swimming pool. Have to use swimming pool as hotel next door which closes at 17;00 pathetic. I wish I had read the reviews before I booked. I will never come back hear again. The outside was horrible. The staff don't care about guests. There was nothing good about this place. No restaurant on site. Nothing on site. They deserve any stars from me.

We had a large ground floor room close to the lift. We had a great sea view. The room had a large double bed, and a second area had a sofa which was made up into a small double be. There were towels and toiletries in the bathroom. There was an iron in the room, a fan hair drier and TV. The room also had a kettle, and tea/coffee making facilities. WIFI was good. The man at reception gave us information, and having read previous reviews we knew that we would have to use its sister hotel next door, for food, drinks and we were also able to use the pool and spa. Car park cost £20.00 but you can park for less on the road outside of the hotel. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel looks shabby outside but you don't sleep outside! Yes its a little dated inside, but you cannot complain for what you are paying. We had breakfast in the hotel next door, and it was quite nice there. The pool was lovely, and the gentleman behind the bar was really great, this was the evening of 5/07. He was so helpful, an absolute asset to the Carlton! We had no issues in the East Cliff. If you want a 5 star hotel then go elsewhere and pay a 5 star price. We had absolutely no complaints. Not sure though I would pay a higher price though, we had a fab deal through Expedia for two rooms. It cost less than the usual price of one room

It was over 30 degrees outside but the heating was on in the bathroom 24/7, absolutely unbearable! Who turns heating on for the whole day and night in the middle of the summer??! The fan in the room was barely working, it was impossible to sleep at night. At the end I got a parking ticket even though I parked in front of the hotel only to get my stuff out of the car!!! Just disgusting! Will never come back there again!

It's in a very good location between Bournemouth and boscombe piers. The rooms need updating and the outside of the building needs refreshing. The onsite parking is astronomical and you can pay to park outside on the road for a fraction of the price. If you just want somewhere to sleep and shower it's a good reasonably priced option

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, the only good thing about it were the friendly staff! The floors were dirty along with the bathroom. Bed sheets were ok. No food or leisure facilities but you can use their sister hotel which is marginally better. I would never stay here again

Pool closed, any food you had to get from sister hotel. Tried to get ice for my drink I had but at 22:20 was told bar closed so said just need ice but apparently no ice and was advised to go to sister hotel! Hotel currently undergoing renovation I believe and our room was in nice condition and bed comfortable and for what you can pay ( only paid £42 for 1 night) and had a double room with part sea view I think it’s definitely worth the money. Would consider staying again but if you can afford more then worth staying at sister hotel The Carlton as pool and restaurant open.
