Spacious rooms with relatively new upgrades to be sure — so no complaints in room experience. Staff are absolutely wonderful, too. Please note that the property is a dated 1990s layout and architecture and styling. It’s all in serviceable, acceptable condition — just a few decades dated.

Check in was really straightforward and the hotel was clean and modern and well presented Our room was nice and cleaned to a high standard The pool and spa area was nice though the pool was a little cold and maybe the changing rooms could do with more regular checks as they felt a little grubby Really reasonable prices in the bar and a nice atmosphere. Plenty of places to sit had relax. Our room was very hot and this was on one of the cooler days we’ve had recently however there was a fan in the room which helped a little. The bed and pillow and duvet were all comfy. I’d definitely stay here again and would recommend the hotel to others

Room was clean, shower tray to floor covering could do with replacing as cracked, breakfast was good with the amount of choice , but coffee machines need to be checked more often as keeps running out of water and beans.

Rooms lack air con and mattress was uncomfortable, both led to poor sleep during our 2-night stay. In room amenities fine and housekeeping good. Although I would say the whole hotel is clean at a "surface level" and in need of an enxtensive deep clean. Breakfast just about passes as 'OK', but it was nothing special in terms of quality of produce. They frequently ran out of items meaning you could wait between 10-15 minutes to have everything you wanted all together. I felt that it was a little disappointing given the upsell of the breakfast quality on booking sites. Pool and spa facilities are good. Nice pool and jacuzzi. Staff very friendly indeed. Again, whilst it looked clean on the surface, more regular deeper cleaning, particularly in the changing rooms, is needed. Undecided if I would stay again given the price, breakfast quality and cleanliness, when the Holiday Inn Express is half the price almost opposite.

Booked 2 rooms 8 months ago for a one night stay due to going to an event early on Sunday morning 19th July 2026. Arrived at reception to check in to be told that they only had one room and that the booking system had allowed over bookings which we were told is quite common ?? A very poor apology from reception so they told us to go over the road to the holiday inn and just give the surname in and they would have a room for the second party. Got to say the staff at the holiday inn were great in comparison although we had to wait 40 mins as the belfry had not sent an email over to confirm the booking to which the staff at the holiday inn had to chase up with 2 phone calls. After we had got a room sorted at the holiday we went back to the belfry and we could see other guests arriving and they were given room keys at reception despite me asking them earlier when informed they where over booked if they had any rooms at all available ? I have stayed in quite a few hotels and this has got to be the worst service I have ever received to date! The hotel looked a bit tired the room was okay and clean the bar and food wasn’t cheap for what you got.

I would never stay here again. Admittedly it was during hot weather, but the room was unbearable. There is no air-conditioning and I had to ask twice for a fan. Eventually I received a 12" desk fan. ( My partner arrived the next day with two extra fans and it was still unbearable.) Sadly the window opened only a couple of inches as well. To be fair there was no other serious complaints, but I was unable to sleep for three nights, which is a serious consideration when booking a hotel room. If I could have left early I would have gone home

Hotel check-in was quick and easy. Our room was spacious but I did book a superior room. Lots of hotels and pubs always fail to provide hair conditioners, tissues and face washers. Only a handful do that. Don’t understand how they don’t provide them when it’s such a small cost item. Dinner was nice but had to wait a long time, obviously due to short staffed. I definitely would stay there again.

The room was fine but some areas could be clearer like the bathroom sink area. The gym has not been cleaned in years as the equipment is full of dust and dirty water/sweat marks. Its a shame because these are fairly new and should be maintained. I was put off going to the spa area as I wasn't sure how well that was cleaned. At breakfast, we asked a member of staff to clean the table, he did this by knocking all the crumbs onto the seats instead of using the cloth or his hands to gather the crumbs. We then had to dust off the seats. The staff need more training and also please hire cleaners to give the hotel a deep clean. Overall the garden is lovely and there are plenty of free car parking spaces. The housekeeping attendant was very helpful, providing clean towels etc as we didn't need the room cleaned. The hotel is near Morrisons and a lovely fish and chip shop! Thanks.

The hotel’s atmosphere and location were excellent, making it a comfortable stay. However, I was surprised when checking in to be asked to pay a £50 security deposit against potential damage to the room. If I didn’t have sufficient funds available, this could have created an awkward and potentially embarrassing situation in front of other guests checking in. This requirement was not clearly stated during the booking process; if it is mentioned on the website, it is not prominently displayed. As someone who travels frequently, I have never encountered such a requirement before. While I appreciate that hotels may have different policies, the experience left me feeling uncomfortable and somewhat unfairly treated. I was also disappointed that the gym facilities closed earlier than I expected, at around 10:00 pm. After a long journey and dinner, I was looking forward to using the gym, but it was already closed by the time I was ready. In addition, I was dissatisfied with the salmon dinner. The portion was very small appeared almost burnt, with only two very small potatoes served alongside it. I ordered an extra portion of chips to make the meal reasonable, but they were never brought to my table. To make matters worse, the chips were still added to my bill and had to be removed after I raised the issue. Overall, while the hotel itself was excellent and offered a pleasant environment, these issues detracted from what would otherwise have been a very enjoyable stay.

The hotel was very spacious, lots of cosy, inviting areas to sit and relax as well as the bar. We stayed at the Belfry while visiting family so didn't use the facilities or restaurant but the room was beautiful - tastefully decorated and had everything we needed (including a welcome fan on a hot evening). The bed was comfortable and the hotel quiet and restful even though there was obviously a wedding party staying. The value for money was great. Would definitely recommend.
