Dolphin Inn

This is a worn down older hotel, the nonpotable water from the tap was a surprise for me, there are serveral convenience stores to buy bottles nearby though. Check in and out was a bit haphazard and check out was literally just drop the keycard off at the desk.

Great location, room and breakfast

Staff were friendly. Room walls were paper thin. Other guests were VERY noisy. Shower took an age to warm up and was then alternately boiling and freezing. Room was cold, luckily I was sole occupant of a twin room so used bith duvets. Bed was comfy.

Whenever visiting London, I tend to stay in similar hotels in Paddington, and this was similar to all others. Economical. Convenient to transportation. Friendly staff. Room provided what we needed.

Great location. 5 mins away from Paddington station and short walk to Hyde Park. Felt safe, nice area. Would stay again.

We like this place, although the space is kind of limited. The location is perfect, Paddington station is just around the corner. There are tons of food choice in the area. Hotel staff is very kind and helpful. The room is clean, and the bed is comfortable.

We felt thankful to find a 6 bed room (3 bunk beds) for our 2 adult and 4 kid family. The location is fantastic as it’s only an 5 minute walk from Paddington Station, and there’s a park across the street for picnics. Paddington has an express train from LHR, and has tube access to central tourist sites. Staff cleaned our room and brought fresh towels daily. There was a mini fridge, fan and kettle there, too. No potable water or air conditioning, though. Also, there’s no elevator so we had 80 steps up to our room. We didn’t mind, but that’s what to expect.

Not so good. Door to room did not work, so was given another room on 4th floor (had to carry large luggage up there) with a bank bed with soft mattress, not comfy.

Location was excellent if you are in town to see the sights. 10 minute walk to Paddington Station. Many restaurants, gift shops and grocery stores within minutes of walking. Amenities are sparse, however, we were not in our room much as we were just in town for a few days to see the sites of London so location was key for us. Place was clean and staff was friendly. Beds were comfortable.

An annual trip back to a city I lived in for fourteen years. Hotel so handy with underground lines close and a great range of eating places.

I rarewly give negative comments but this place almost gave me a heart attack! We were given a room up the 4th floor, with 8 flights of staurs! Thankfully we got medium sized luggage but still it was hard negotiating the steep stairs. In our 60's, which could be glemaed from he detrails I hgave given earlier for online check in they sure knew our health sitiuation. Anyway, we did it, but despite the friendly staff, especially the guy at check out (African American guy possibly, not sure, sorry) I am not going back here. There was no aircon here too, we had to open the window to let the fresh air in. I cannot imagine it comfy in summer. The beds were sagging and too low, even for a short person like me. I bumped my head a few times. I was scared my hub will break the upper bink bed, oh dear..Just not a very pleasant stay, I'm sorry to say. The rooms in France were way better than our London hotels. Even the one in Abu Dhabi airport was way nicer and cheaper. I am not sure how they are able to charge too much for a crappy hotel.

No lift, no proper hot water for shower, it has bed bugs

The location is awesome. Super close from Paddington Station. The staff was very kind and tried to accommodate our needs. Room wasn't too bad also. For this price, it was pretty satisfying. The shower was warm and TV worked well. However, I had to comment that our room was right on top of SUBWAY!!! I was unable to sleep because every 5 minutes, the whole room was rumbling....

The 'clean' towels were very smelly. There was no drinking water in the room, and the staff did not draw our attention to this act even though we were with small children. We did not get water, we had to buy it or ourselves, which was difficult.

I had a single room, it was very small with a really narrow single bed but it was comfortable, clean and with coffee/tea facilities and a fridge too. The room was nice on warm on arrival. For the money you cant go wrong really, great location around shops and restaurants and a stroll from the tube. Breakfast was listed as a cooked breakfast but it was basically scrambled egg and then cold meat, cheese etc.. OK though.

Very handy for transport links.
