Lovely staff, they could not do enough for you. The entertainment for the children was perfect and the adults loved it too! The food was really good, both breakfast and dinner, and the service was excellent. The indoor and outdoor pool were fantastic and very clean. I am looking forward to staying again

Our stay was absolutely wonderful!. The room was spotlessly clean, with fresh linens and everything well maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly, especially Dylan the hotel manager, and Clinton..the night porter went above and beyond for us, attentive and always ready to help with a smile. And the beach view from our room was breathtaking-waking up to the sea and watching the sunset was the perfect touch to our trip. We’d definitely come back again!

Booked a room for 3, was given one with beds for 2. Hotel blamed hotels.com while hotels.com blamed the hotel. So I spent 2 nights sleeping on the floor. Absolutely no effort was made by the hotel to assist at all. We had to request an extra pillow and quilt for using on the floor as the carpet wasn't clean enough. The bathroom wasn't clean and the toilet seat was broken. Lamp in room also didn't work. Incredibly disappointing start to our holiday. Will never return.

It’s like stepping back in time when you visit Blackpool in many ways and although the Doric also feels a little bit like this it is also a comfortable, very clean hotel with very friendly helpful staff. We enjoyed the outdoor pool and bar as the weather was glorious! The only fault I can give, is our room (49) was far too hot as there’s no AC or fans but other than that we had a great stay.

The hotel itself is lovely, rooms clean. I have stayed 3x now. The main issue I have is that each time I stay I am kept awake by rowdy inconsiderate guests who think it’s acceptable to run up and down room corridors, slam doors, scream & bang around all hours. It was still happening at 1am on the most recent stay. The walls are very thin! I had asked for a room in the quietest part of the hotel (where possible) due to having to be up and leaving by 5.30am.

We spent the weekend there. Our first visit. Longtime Blackpool visitors and decided we needed a change from our usual haunt of the past 20 years. A large north shore older hotel but the basement pool facility is now closed. Our 10 years old granddaughter likes a pool. Quite pleased with the Doric. Plus points: Very good & friendly staff & plenty of them. Nice cooked breakfast with other options available in a nice waitress services dining room. The dining room also doubles up as the entertainment venue in the evening and there is bingo and some good quality singers on too. Room was clean and fresh bedding on the two beds. Medium points: Basement leisure area has a fairly small 3 foot deep pool and a small ‘hot tub’. A steam room that doesn’t look like it’s working and no sign of the advertised sauna. Parking is not plentiful. We arrived at 4.10pm and just managed to get a spot down the side of the hotel. Which is tight and relies on you leaving your keys at reception so they can move cars in and out if needed. To be fair. Nothing moved over the weekend. Not great: The room was hot / without any heating on. Room & bathroom windows were opened by us and didn’t make much difference till well after midnight, so was a little uncomfortable. There was a fan available in the wardrobe, which would have been a toss up between the fan noise and the heat… Bath taps quite old and hard to turn on & off. Would stay again. Hoping for a better room next time. We had #59

We stayed in the Annexe, a separate house next door to the hotel, we were unaware of this when booking. A lovely young lady from reception took us to the room, and gave advice on parking- hotel parking is minimal, and you have to leave your keys with reception, as it’s a game of ‘car park jam’, or you can try and park on one of the neighbouring roads. The annexe house looks just like a student house, a shabby front door with a key and pin pad entry system. Inside the grey thickly plastered walls are unwelcoming, a tatty settee at the bottom of the stairs blocks access and causes problems when carrying luggage, and must breach fire regulations. The room itself appeared quite pleasant, bright, modern, comfortable, spacious, a lovely bathroom with white fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries. However, it did have a few negatives - the blinds closed with a gap in the middle, the bathroom vanity unit was broken, some parts of the carpet were grim, some of the decoration needed attention and a little deep cleaning required -but the room was so hot, no air conditioning, full sun through the broken blinds and no blackout curtains! The hotel public amenities appeared to be good, but didn’t really use them because our accommodation did not require us to access the facilities. Overall the stay was ok, probably wouldn’t return.
