DoubleTree by Hilton Coventry

Booked the room several months before arriving and the “system” made a mistake and downsized our room but it remained the same price. Room quality was poor, parking was poor. Toilet door didn’t close dragged on the floor. Felt like a dirty American motel as soon as you got out of reception into any room.

Staff were really nice and welcoming, however our supposed superior/deluxe room didnt have bath robes or slippers inside, tv didnt work, and prices for food were extortionate for what was served.

Room was ok, but heating didn’t work so gave us a small fan heater, not really powerful enough. Staff were excellent, helpful, jolly. Prices for drinks snacks a joke,£2.50 can of coke…

Lovely hotel, great reception and staff were helpful. Room was nice and warm but communal areas were fairly cold. Had EV charger(though KW price a bit high) and good location

Room was dusty, very dated room. The sink didn’t drain. Mould on ceiling above the shower. £17.95 for a very basic breakfast and poor service. Plates and cups empty on several tables with staff just chatting in the corner.

The hotel was clean but that what is expected , although the gym was not . The gym is been used for local as well , so lot more people than you would expect. it was ran down and the shower and ladies changing rooms were not clean. They asked for £8 for night for parking extra which was outrages as all the hotel nearby , they dont have charges for parking. Overall this was my last visit to this branch

Air conditioning did not cool - it only heated the room up excessivley! I stayed 2 nights - on the second day there was no hot water (not even luke warm) in the morning - so I couldn't take a bath or shower. Reception acknowledged the issues but 'couldn't do anything for me'

The room was clean, spacious, and with everthing I needed, along with the comfortable bed. Of particular note was the wonderful welcome at reception from Jess, who continued in to chat each time I passed by. It felt like meeting up with an old friend!

Dog friendly. Generally good and happy to stay her again

Didn't do breakfast

Everything was great. Room was great, but did make a suggestion which was well received. I was there at a conference. More staff was needed at the bar to order food & drinks. I think i waited over 20mins at one time, and in the evening not enough alcohol was ordered, so choices were small. Staff were 100% top notch

Great welcome at reception. Accessible room allocated as requested. In my opinion, there is a design flaw in the bathroom, as the 'accessible' toilet is positioned too low to be accessible and is too close to the hand basin. The shower was more of a trickle than a shower, albeit hot, and I've had worse showers, so it's not worth complaining about, just an observation. We ate at the restaurant in the evening - a very pleasant experience with attentive staff. Sadly, the same could not be said about breakfast. A few staff members mingling about, not offering hot beverages. You had to 'flag them down' and wait for hot drinks. I noted several tables waiting, and it wasn't overly busy. Tables weren't wiped down in between customers, cutlery was just rearranged, and the idea of a large jug of milk left on tables for subsequent customers is just not nice and possibly unhygienic. The English breakfast food was hot except for the scrambled egg, which was supplied in such vast quantities that it inevitably became cold quickly. All in all such a shame after a very positive experience the evening before.

Great Staff. You pay for parking. There is a big Tesco nearby about a 15 minute walk.
