I booked the Guildford House Hotel, but upon checking in I was checked into another hotel 2 doors down. The room was in the basement, there were no lights in the corridor to the room, the TV did not work. No hot water, the bed whilst clean looked old and tatty, a curtain and net which did not for the window. Only stay here if you need it for location.

So by London prices my stay was £105 for one night. However I feel that this price was far too high and I’ll list the negatives first. Room was very small. Decor was 1980’s and very poor The kettle was dirty. The bathroom was very small with shower next to toilet. There was a pubic like hair on my pillow and what looked like blood spots. The duvet cover has burn holes The toiletcistern lid was hanging off The hot water tap sometimes couldn’t be turned off all the time. The shower hot water was hard to operate. There were toenail clippings on the floor. It is in serious need of upgrade. Positives It was warm Was near transport links

Hotel was ok! 0.5 miles from King’s Cross. Close to everything by underground! Costa opposite!

Very poor. Room the size of a cupboard. Broken wardrobe. Thick dust on lampshades. Bathroom smaller than wardrobe!

Cheap and good location, facilities as expected however, struggled to get hot water for the shower (we were told after we needed to leave the water running a long time. Staff were not very friendly and made us feel like we were an inconvenience for simply checking in! Facilities said luggage storage is available, it was but it was just left in the corner of the breakfast room - we appreciated it all the same. By far the worst thing (and the main reason for low scores and why we will NOT return) was that during our breakfast a staff member cleared his throat loudly and then spat into the bin next to the coffee machine - disgusting ! He then continued to clear tables ! We left immediately!

Good points: location. Bad points: Smelly. Noisy. Dirty. Breakfast. Out of date milk in room. Dirty cups in room. Toilet/ shower room. Beds.

Location was the positive. Close to tube station. Hot room, very small and uncomfortable bed.

This place is really run down, worn out carpets, torn curtains, dirty showers.

Nice staff. -no water pressure -no ventilation or ac. -no hot water at times. -bathroom to small to be functional.

The carpet was loose, causing us to fall down the stairs. Breakfast was just cereal and toast - fine. The room, curtains were falling down, rusty screws in the bathroom, chewing gum like substances stuck to sink, hand soap empty and fell off the wall, coat hooks on the back of the bathroom door were right at eye level and frankly dangerous, bathroom wasn’t level so water didn’t drain properly after a shower, toilet leaked, hole in bed box, loud buzzer could constantly be heard, tv turned itself on randomly during the night, mouldy pillow in cupboard

Absolutely perfect for what we wanted to do Basically drop iur bags and sleep there 10 minutes walk from kings cross station so perfectly handy for us As we went to wembley and tottenham hotspur stadium for concerts there It was cheap for london and served a purpose for what we needed it for its perfect tho if you are not staying in the hotel all day like us we literally dropped our bags and slept there Staff are very friendly as well A costa coffee luterally across the road
