Malmaison Cheltenham

Comfortable and clean facilities with good support staff. Very convenient location for Cheltenham shops and facilities. Lift was not very reassuring but otherwise perfect.

Fair, food and drinks were pretty pricey. Room was clean.

Really warm welcome from staff and when the big bath in our suite had an issue with water temperature, they switched us to an alternative room immediately. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return.

The room was very snug and the bed quite low but comfy and clean. Reception areas are very nice.

Stayed in a cosy double room as a single traveller. Lovely room, cosy, warm and a great size for 1! Would stay again!

Really, it's a 3.5/5 Bed comfy. Breakfast great, as was the server. Room (112) had a stain on the ceiling. Half the light switches did nothing. Room far too dark. The whole system is batty, pop some labels or explanations up. Bathroom sink was blocked. Bathroom door handle very difficult to use, stiff, slippery & worn. All of these are simple, minor glitches but indicative of poor attention to detail. Don't charge high prices and position yourself as premium if you don't hold yourself to high standards. Pretty disappointing, felt a bit contemptuous TBH.

This hotel is usually very good but had a poor experience. I had reserved a twin room but was given a double. In the morning, the hotel had no hot water and when this was told to front desk there was no apology or offer of alternative given. Expect better from an expensive 4 star hotel

A very tired hotel in need of a refurbishment. Hotel bar also tired and uninviting with a rude girl serving behind the bar who attempted to pour a cocktail and discovered she hadnt the ingrediants to make it!!

Stay was average - staff were all helpful but room was a little tired and didn’t feel the cleanest. Parking was available for a fee and unfortunately no spaces in the main car park so had to park on the street nearby. Area is close to main amenities.

Mould in the bathrooms and a reception that is not often manned.

Lovely staff - the entire time! They gave us an upgrade to such a lovely room and when our bath plug wasn't working, they kindly let me have a bath in a different room so I could get ready for an event. An extremely pleasant group of people! 10/10! Oh, and the gluten-free eggs benedict was spot-on ♥️

Nice night in Cheltenham

Probably teh worst experience in 20 years of global travelling. I arrived at the hotel and waited for an hour, and they gave my room away to someone else and left me with no room. I eventually found a replacement at 12:30am, at a cost of £400.... Completely incompetent staff and service levels. Do not waste your time.

We paid nearly £300 for the one night stay including breakfast. The hotel is in a good location easy access to the centre and parking was handy although spaces were very tight. Staff were friendly and efficient. We found the hotel to be very tired, carpets thin and worn, paint work tired and shabby. The wallpaper behind the bed had something splattered on it. The bathroom was tired and not overly clean. The bedroom fixtures out of date. The bed should have been a queen size however this was not the case. My husband and myself both caught our shins on the bed frame which was wooden and sticking out as the mattress did not fill the frame. The bed wasn’t very comfortable and the pillows mediocre, we had one decent pillow and one cheap flat one. The vent had lots of dust and the lighting panel was temperamental very annoying! Hallways and walls again tired and worn out. The best part of the stay was the breakfast! I didn’t complain due to it being my husband’s 40th birthday celebration weekend. Would have been better staying at a travel lodge!

Rooms in need of investment. Upgraded on arrival from cosy to superior. Room was large, maybe too large, very high ceilings and air con on full on arrival meant it was very cold. Furniture was damaged (armchair looks like a dog has attacked it) and the units looked like they were from from an old office. Lighting was appalling, 3 tiny bedside spotlights and a large main light which couldn’t dim, meant we couldn’t make the room cosy at all. Was seriously missing proper free standing lamps. Nowhere for my wife to do her makeup other than a random pull up mirror without lighting in the side unit. Bathroom was adequate, but putting a shower against an uncovered window meant all the paint was coming off. Hotel was super quiet in bar and restaurant even on a Saturday , and to be honest the hotel looks like there’s been a spending cap, or may be on its last legs. Reception team were lovely though.

2 night stay bed & breakfast. Room was spacious but a little dated. Breakfast was good. Great location as quiet but could do with a bit of TLC. Staff were friendly.
