I arrived at 10 on the evening and left at 730 the next day. When I arrived it was dark and cold outside. I had needed to call the hotel as I was lost. Beth was really kind and friendly on the phone and got me to the hotel. I entered the building and it was really quirky. I entered from the car park and it was like entering an olde fashioned train station. It was ace. I then entered the hotel and it was really bright and colourful. There were lights on the stairs that made it look magical. Beth checked me in and again was really helpful. The room was lovely. Nice and bright. It has all the facilities you could ask for. Overall a fab stay. I don't know whatthe area is like outside the hotel as I got there too late and left early. I am a single traveller and would def recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel, great staff and very helpful. Late evening / night time feels very unsafe with lots of sirens and people screaming. Not much the hotel can do. But personally I wouldn't want to be out late in the area.

- Horrible smell from the running water from the bathroom's sink tap - Abysmal internet connection - Fridge not working, with just the lights on - Dilapidated looking upper part of the wall / ceiling in front of the "supposed" Executive Room, and the list goes on....😒

Lovely old Victorian hotel, nice friendly staff, good size room spoilt by a table top white fridge on the floor - had to switch off due to noise! Hotel only let down by standard of food - too much ultra processed food, tinned tomatoes at breakfast and only fried eggs offered.

Parking is limited here but free, luckily we were able to get a space. Check in was easy and we son found our room. It was clean and fairly modern, well kept and not tatty. There was a cooler in the room. The bathroom was nice although the shower is a little ancient. I was surprised there was no soap, with in bar or gel form to wash our hands. We ended up using the bath/shower gel they provide. Breakfast as good for £10, a buffet option for a Sunday. Hotel was ideally located for the city centre, couldn’t fault it really! We’d stay here again

Nice hotel in a good location. The room was very hot with no opening window. Very soft bed with thin pillows unfortunately prevented a good nights sleep. Paid to book breakfast but it was poor towards the end of service, maybe better if earlier.

Limited but free parking on site and we were able to leave our car and luggage ahead of check in. Our family room was incredibly clean and spacious with a single bed made up in addition to 2 doubles. Decent size bathroom with plenty of towels. The hotel was quite busy and very noisy throughout the night with doors banging and chatter in the hallways. I think there was a large group in for the weekend so perhaps not usually so busy. Staff were generally helpful but breakfast was hugely disappointing. We didn't have it included in our rate so I paid for 2 adults and 2 children totalling £27. A very limited and uninteresting cooked selection, a few cereals and some fruit (though the strawberries had mouldy ones visible). I actually got my breakfast refunded as nothing appealing.

On arrival, having booked a family room for myself and disabled adult son, staff discovered that head office had changed our booking to a 4 poster bed room which sadly wasn’t suitable. Front of house staff however were very helpful and we ended up staying in a double room in which they had to squeeze an extra single bed in to make it work, although this meant we could not get the wheelchair round the room adequately. I booked our room based on our needs so head office should not be interfering with the bookings which impacted on our stay. Convenient lication when visiting for a show at the theatre
