The air conditioning is the best. The room was mostly clean and extremely comfortable. Facilities in the room are always excellent. There's good bathroom facilities and lots of room. These family rooms are absolutely fabulous. Great offers, easily accessible from the town. A lovely quiet hotel. There are downstairs bars and restaurant but we didnt use them. However they seem comfortable, clean and welcoming

The hotel was really neat! The room service/food in the restaurant was probably some of the best we had during our week in England. The only reason why I didn't give five stars is that we booked a room with a king size bed, and confirmed at check-in that it had one, however the room we were given had a queen size bed.

Really liked how they’ve kept some original features. Nicely designed room, great shower, comfy bed, good location. Breakfast OK, staff all very nice. Only negative was my room didn’t have a window to the outside it was to an internal courtyard so I could get fresh air in.

This is the third time I have stayed at the telegraph. We absolutely love this hotel. The rooms are amazing and it's in a geed central location. However this time it was a little disappointing because some standards have slipped. We hope it improves soon because we'd love to come back again.

We have stayed in this hotel for the last 5 years, as a gift to each other for our wedding anniversary. We always stay in the Lord Iliffe Suite which is wonderful. There is always a plate of cakes with a hand written card wishing us a Happy Anniversary, waiting for us, on arrival. The guy on reception this weekend, was exceptional, big shout out to him! He was so helpful, cheerful and friendly. Sorry we didn't catch his name (he was on reception Saturday 6th September morning and Sunday 7th September morning) The breakfast, as usual, was great. Really good quality and buffet style. The hotel is immaculate and perfectly located within a stones throw of shops, bars and restaurants. My only gripe is that having spent over £300 for a 1 night stay in the suite, i would expect that the room be perfect. The curtains are not attached to the rails properly and the heated towel rail in the bathroom didn't work, we were hoping to dry out our swimwear. We did ask the female receptionist about the the towel rail but it wasn't fixed when we returned nor were we advised that it hadn't been sorted. We only found out when we got back to the room and found that it wasn't working.

It's a great hotel in an interesting and culturally important building. Generally everything is fine but there are a couple of small niggles with the hotel such as uncomfortable pillows - rather on the lumpy hard side, bottles of water in fridge - lovely and thoughtful but almost impossible to open. Main issue is parking and external access for those with limited mobility

Good Points: - Super cool building in a very interesting, unusual city - Fab design features. Especially loved bathroom in our room - The male receptionist was kind and friendly - Nice breakfast with good coffee - Comfortable bed - Food in the restaurant was fine Bad points: - Room was not clean enough. Dust and bits on floor, dusty, unclean surfaces - I was particularly upset about one very dirty cup in our room and a tea spoon with hot chocolate from the last guest. I mentioned this to a female receptionist. She didn’t really seem to care. Not even sure if she apologised. Sent housekeeping person who was equally like a robot. Suspect they often have complaints about cleanliness - It’s not luxurious. No body lotion in bathroom. Towels are basic, not fluffy and small - Thin walls and little noise insulation. Could hear neighbours’ ….. activities in vivid detail this morning and could actually feel the banging against our headboard - Found it utterly gross when leaving room to see clean bedding and towels stacked on the carpets in the hallways. Seriously?!?! If I was unlucky, my bedding and towels could have been sat on a carpet where god knows how many people walk in outdoor shoes?!?! Cleanliness is important to me and the factors that point to ineptitude of the housekeeping team made my skin crawl so much that I wouldn’t stay at Telegraph again or recommend it.
